Cruise That Changed Everything

Hadley and Isla are twins going on a cruise together just to enjoy the sun. They never expected to find love that would turn their world upside down. But when two teenage boys end up in the room next door, one night sets off a relationship that changes everything.

2. Two Cuties

Hadley’s POV

I groaned in frustration as I ran my fingers through my hair trying to smooth and flatten it down after the wind kept blowing it everywhere. “Hadley will you stop your hair is fine.” Isla was walking beside me with her hair in a side braid like Elsa in frozen.

“No its not Isla, it’s all over, and you took my last hair tie for your braid so I can’t put it in a pony, you know I like my hair pulled back.” I snapped then went back to my hair. I swear she really irritates me sometimes and even though if you ask me I may say I hate her I actually love her. I mean she is my sister. We came out of mom together, we went to school together, we came on this boat together, everything we do we do together. After her constant nagging she did get me to stop playing with my hair and let the wind blow it every witch way.

Isla’s POV

After about 20 minutes of telling her to stop Hadley finally listened and let the wind blow her hair around as we walked down the deck of the ship. I kept pulling Hadley to a stop so I could talk to a cute boy and every time I did I saw Hadley roll her eyes and cross her arms over her chest, but thankfully didn’t walk away. She knows she needs to stick by side because we are sisters. She should try to talk to more boys though, maybe even get a boyfriend that wont get stolen by the slut queen for once. “Isla stop flirting so much. I swear if you don’t stop soon I’m going to throw up.” She looked at me with a little disgust on her face.

“Oh come on Hadley, have some fun. Why don’t you go talk to a boy too? There’s a ton of cute ones all over.” I put my hands together and almost pleaded. Hadley just looked at me with a confused expression, then let out a chuckle and shook her head, then looked straight at me.

“Isla, I may have the same face and DNA as you, but I’m not you. I’m not the cheerleader that sleeps with the captain of the football team almost every other day, and is afraid of getting sweaty. I’m the girl who plays field hockey, soccer, lacrosse, and rides a long board. You can’t even stand on one for more than 10 seconds before falling on you face. You may care about boys, but I don’t.” She snaps at me then walks over to the railing looking out at the water that was the finest crystal blue color. I sigh then see something that catches my eye. Only about 15 feet away 2 incredibly good-looking boys are standing looking in our direction. It’s clear that they’re staring at Hadley, not me and I smile but am a bit jealous that they seem intoxicated by Hadley. I mean I’m one of the popular kids, but we’re identical twins so Hadley is obviously as hot as me and just as popular, but has a different style. Boys stare at both of us all the time, but I’ve never seen two stare at just her and be so intoxicated by her either, it’s impressive.

“Uh Hadley.” I tap her shoulder and she shots me a mad glare, but softens a bit when she sees what I’m guessing looks like a nervous expression cross my face. I shift my eyes to glance at the boys and they’re still looking at her. “You may want to look over there. Two really hot boys are looking at you.” She arches a perfect eyebrow at me then turns her head in the direction of my finger at the two boys with no emotion and gives them a small smile. I couldn’t tell if it was fake or real, but it was a smile. Then she turns back to me, shrugs her shoulders slightly and looks back out to the ocean. I look at the boys again. They are both almost six feet tall and seem pretty toned. One has curly blond hair that falls over his forehead and blue eyes. He is wearing black skinny jeans with rips at the knees, black vans and a Blink-182 t-shirt, I don’t know what or who that is but I’ve heard Hadley mention them as a band before. The other boy was about the same height with short chocolate brown hair and green eyes that were brighter than Blondie’s. He has a Nirvana t-shirt just like Hadley’s tank top and jeans, with black and red Air Jordan’s, and has a black and white snapback turns backwards on his head. They seem like the male version of Hadley. Here I am dressed in pink skirt and white tank top with white flower sandals and feel out of place. Hadley on the other had is wearing a Nirvana tank top, black skinny jeans and her navy converse, so it like an almost exact match to what the two boys are wearing. I’m about to walk towards the boys when a voice stops me.

“Isla go flirt with someone else. Judging by how they’re dressed they won’t go for you, you don’t even know who ‘Blink 182’ is and think Nirvana is a ticket to some afterlife.” Hadley says not taking her eyes of the ocean. I frown at Hadley then look back to the boys to see that they are now gone, and I sigh. “I’m going to go find our room, I see you later sis. Here take this” She hands me a piece of paper with our room number so I can find it later. “I have the number saved in my phone so I don’t need that. I guess I’ll see you when you’re done out here.” Hadley says with no emotion and walks away. I just sigh and walk in the opposite direction. Why does my sister have such a dark personality?

Hadley’s POV

I was walking down the hall somewhere on the ship. I said I was going to find our room but I ended up wondering the halls. I was looking at my phone and not paying attention when I bumped into someone causing us both to drop our phones. “Oh my god I’m really sorry.” I bent down and after I grabbed my phone I reached for the other persons and our hands brushed. I looked up and saw green eyes staring right back into my brown ones. He was wearing jeans, a Nirvana t-shirt and a black and white snapback. I then realized he was one of the boys looking at me on deck earlier.

“No problem, I wasn’t paying attention either.” He took his phone in one hand then stood up and offered me the other. I took it and he pulled me up. His touch sent shivers up my spine. “Hey I saw you on deck earlier with a girl who looked like a cheerleader begging to get laid. I mean she was flirting with almost every guy. I even thought she was coming towards me and my friend so we bolted.” He laughed and it was pretty cute.

“That was my twin sister Isla. She flirts with every guy she sees. I did stop her from trying to prey on you though. You don’t seem like her type.”

“Oh yeah, what makes you say that?” The boy lifts an eyebrow in amusement at me.

“Well, do you like pink?” I cocked my head at him.

“No, I can’t stand pink.” He replied twisting his face in disgust and I laughed at his facial expression.

“Then you are not her type at all. Pink is her life. You saw her outfit and hair right?”

“Yeah, but I like your outfit a lot better. I also like the blue in your hair. Oh and I’m Austin by the way, Austin Mahone.” He sticks out his hand.

“Hadley Mendes” I reply and shake his hand. We stand for a while before I snap back to reality. “I better find my room.” I say pulling up the number on my screen. I see him glance at my phone, then smile.

“You are standing in front of it.” He laughs and points at the door to my left. I look at my phone screen and then to the number on the door to see he’s right. “Well what do you know you’re right next to me and my friend Cody aren’t you?” I smiled at him, unlocked the door and found my bag on the bed farthest from the door and Isla’s on the one closest, Perfect. I didn’t want to be right next to the door.  I put my phone down on the desk opposite of my bed and turned around to see Austin followed me in. He looked nervous all of the sudden looking down at his Air Jordan Sneakers.

“Hey Austin are you okay?” I asked concerned, even though I didn’t know him and his head quickly shot up.

“Uh yeah. Hey do you and your sister have plans for tonight?”

“Not really why?”

“Well Cody thinks Isla is kind of pretty, but thinks that she needs to change her look to be more like you.” Austin replies and scratches the back of his neck. “Anyway he wants me to get him a date with her, I don’t want to be a third wheel and you seem cool.”

“So you and Cody want to take me and my sister to dinner?” A smile begins to break on my face and he nods. “Well I’m in as long as I get to sit with you. As for Isla I will drag her if I have to, but I have a feeling she will gladly accept.” I answer and his face lights up.

“Good, how does 7 sound to you?” He smiles at me.

“7 is perfect, we’ll be ready, let my text my sister now” I say and grab my phone from my desk.

“Great, I’ll guess we will see you two then.” Austin smiles and leaves the room. I smile to myself and shut the door.
