3. An Old Flame

It was a long journey to the tall gigantic castle-like structure, but Remus knew it would be worth it. His traveling companion was silent, in which the werewolf was thankful for so that he may get his thoughts together to face his old friend.

It wasn't long before the boat reached the shore and the two wizards stepped out and onto the solid ground on which the intimidating structure stood on. They didn't journey long before they came across a guard standing just outside the magical barrier of the prison. He said in a bored, dry voice "State your name and business."

Remus' traveling companion said "Auror Alastor Moody and Remus Lupin we are here to visit inmate Kaunan Gebo 390."

The guard shot up and in a more lively voice answered "That is an impossible request. That is a high-security prisoner and under no circumstance should be allowed to have a visitor even if they are accompanied by an Auror."

The werewolf in him growled at the insult to his mate and Remus had to hold it back from escaping his mouth as he glared at the guard in front of him. He instead spoke in a calm voice "We have important business to discuss with him."

The guard looked even more furious as he spat "Nothing in this world should be important business to him since his master his gone."

Remus did growl this time and Moody put a hand on his arm to prevent him from attacking the man in front of him. Staring straight into the eyes of the young man while his amber ones glinted dangerously he said "We have come to talk to the last remaining Black about his Heir...Heir to the Ancient and Most Noble House of Black I might add. So, therefore, it is indeed pertinent that we talk to Mr. Black."

The guard's eyes widened in shock before he hastened and gave them visitor passes and let them into the heavily guarded and warded prison.

As they walked the older Auror looked at the younger wizard and said "I'm impressed Lupin. You are definitely a brave one."

Remus gave him a cheeky grin and responded: "Who do you think trained me in that department."

They walked onward and Remus tried not to look at the ragged inmates in their cells as they walked past or the screams as the Dementors hovered around cell doors. Finally, they reached their destination and saw a thin and raggedy looking young wizard sitting in the corner of the cell.

Remus' heart ached when he saw his friend and his "unrequited" love sitting in the furthest corner and curled into himself tightly.

Silver eyes met his amber ones causing his heart to lurch before a raspy voice asked "Remy?"
