12. Chapter 12

~~Lucy's POV

My eyes fluttered open lazily. A high pitched ringing sound was in my ears and I couldn't move my hands or feet. My body ached, but I mustered up the strength to lift up my head and look at my surroundings.

I gasped and jolted backwards. Anti was standing right in front of my face, his pitch black eyes staring directly into mine. A sharp, silver knife was in his hand and he was smiling wickedly at me, like I was a fascinating toy in a store.

"Hello there, dear Lucy." He hissed. I looked down and saw that I was tied to a blue plastic chair by the hands and feet. "Sorry about tying you to a chair, but I just wanted you to have the best view of the show!" He giggled. The show?

"What do you mean?" I questioned. All he did was smile in return, and then turned to the crowd of people in front of me. I completely forgot they were there. He clapped his hands together and stood upright, like a commander.

"Okay, this is what is going to happen." He started. "You are all going to stay silent, and line up in single file in front of me." The people did as ordered. What is he going to do? I thought.

"You'll see soon, Lucy." He said smoothly. I forgot he could read minds. I couldn't do anything, it was hopeless. "Now, don't move. Don't speak. When this knife touches your skin, I want you to do only one thing." His teeth were bared, and looked like they were somehow growing longer.

I couldn't believe my ears. He wanted innocent people to stand like statues while he kills them, and just scream. This was out of control.

"Anti, stop! You can't do this!" I pleaded.
"Oh, but I can." Anti replied. His voice seemed to have a deep extra layer to it, making him sound demonic. "This is going to be so much fun!" He sounded like an excited child, and it terrified me. Before I could even blink, I heard the glass shattering cry of a woman in pain. Anti was slashing the woman's arms and legs with wild actions, just like he did to me. Deep red blood dripped from the knife and landed on the white ceramic floor beneath us. Anti was laughing hysterically now and was bouncing from side to side.

"Stop!" I shouted. All I could do was plead. Anti ignored my statement, and the woman's body he was attacking then fell to floor limply.

"Next!" Anti laughed. An elderly man then walked forward with an expressionless face. Anti did the same horrific actions on the woman to the man. I was crying, I can't watch this! I wriggled in my chair, trying to untie the rope, but to no avail. I didn't know what else to do, but then an idea struck me.

"Anti, please, I-I love you!" In reality, I didn't love anti, I detested him, but it was the only thing I could think of. Anti stopped then and looked at me.
"What the hell did you say?" He seemed frustrated, and he walked closer to my chair, knife in hand.
"I said I love you." I repeated timidly. His face then turned into a snarl, and suddenly he was right in front of my face.

"No one can love me!" Anti screamed. "No one!" He didn't just sound angry anymore, a distressed tone was also in his voice, like he was in pain. I then screamed as loud as possible, even though he didn't hurt me in any way. I was hoping that my high pitched scream would somehow drive Anti away and bring Jack back. Anti was caught of guard, and stumbled backwards landing hard on the floor. He stopped for a moment, and then his head shot up.
Blue eyes.
"L-Lucy?" Jack murmured.
"Jack!" I exclaimed.
"Wha-what has he done to you?" He then turned his head round slowly to look at the two people he had killed, his body frozen and mouth open wide. He didn't move, he didn't speak, he just stared. Stared with wide eyes at what he had done.

"Jack..." I didn't know what to say. He turned his head slowly back around to look at me, and quickly stood up to untie me from the chair. He untied my right hand in silence, but as he was untying my left, he gasped suddenly.
"L-Lucy, I c-can't keep f-fighting him." He managed to say through gritted teeth.

"It's ok Jack, it's going to be ok." I tried to reassure him, but it didn't seem to work.
"I can't..."
"Yes, yes you-" My words were cut off by a high pitched laugh.
"So you tried to trick me, did you? Jack tried to help you? I've never seen anything more stupid in my life." Anti turned to face me.

"Look, Anti, you can't do this! You can't keep hurting Jack and innocent people! It's more then sadistic! It's barbaric!" I shouted. I was sick to death of this same cycle, Anti coming and Jack coming back. I just wanted Jack, that's all I wanted.

"I can do what I wan-" Anti's words were cut short by a strong and hopefully painful slap to the face. I slapped Anti. I slapped Anti. Well, I officially have a death wish.
"You bitch!" Anti screamed. He clutched the knife in his hand and brought it close to my neck. But then he froze.

"Ya know what? I don't give a damn about you!" Anti said. He then turned away and faced the crowd. He didn't ask the people to step forward this time, he just dived into the mass of people, and with his knife, began killing them off one by one.

Screams of innocent people filled the room and ricocheted off the walls. However, my right hand was free. I began untying my left hand, then my two legs. Anti wasn't laughing anymore, he just snarled and growled like a wolf. I was free from the chair, and stood up slowly. I began running towards Anti and attempted to sneak up behind him. I was close to him, and as he was raising his knife to kill another person, I caught his arm in the air, trying to stop him. Anti then spun around and faced me with a demonic expression. His eyes weren't just black anymore.

A bright green circle was in the centre of his eye, where his pupil should be. But that wasn't what terrified me. A thick black substance dripped from his eyes, like tears. His teeth were extremely long now, and as sharp as a knife. He looked like a demon sent straight from hell.

But I was determined.

I took Anti's face in my hands, and stared directly into his eyes. The black substance continued to drip from his eyes, and it seemed to be increasing in speed. "Who am I?" He asked with a shaky voice. I smiled slightly and looked deep into his eyes. "You're Jack, and I love you." I leaned closer to his face, but he seemed to step backwards.

"Jack, it's ok, I'm here for you." Anti stood still, and I was right in front of his face now. "I always will be..." I brought my face closer, and to my surprise, he did the same. My lips were millimetres away from his. Our lips touched. It was the most beautiful feeling I had ever felt in my life. He held my waist and pulled me closer. I wrapped my arms around his neck. For the first time in a long time, I forgot where I was, I forgot what I had been through, I forgot everything. But I will never forget one thing.

I will never forget Jack.

We pulled away, and I was greeted by the most beautiful blue eyes I had ever seen. Jack smiled. I had no words for how his smile made me feel. He then laughed softly, but then his laugh became harder and more loud.

"Lucy!" He shouted. He picked me up and spun me around in his arms. "I love you so much!" He hugged me tightly, and I hugged him back, both of us laughing together.
"I love you too, Jack." I said.

"And I always will."

One week later...

I have never been at a happier point in my life then where I am now. Me and Jack have been spending every second together, and although Anti has appeared once or twice, I have helped Jack through it. It turns out that all Anti wanted was to be loved. When you really think about it, you actually start to feel a bit of sympathy for him. But it still doesn't excuse the things he has done. Jack is finding it quite difficult to concentrate on anything recently because of the things he has done, but I know he'll find a way past this. The police had come to the airport to investigate the killings, but they haven't found anything. Luckily, all of the people that Anti compelled have forgotten everything that happened, and we managed to leave the airport before anyone saw us. Jack has been staying at my apartment ever since, and I haven't been to school after what happened. We're thinking of moving to another country, England maybe? We're not sure yet, but we both think it's for the best. Too many horrific things have happened here, to both of us. We are both in my apartment now, sitting on my pure white couch in the front room.
"Lucy?" Jack turned his head to face me.
"Yeah?" I replied.
"Um, well, I don't think I've thanked you for everything you've done for me." He said timidly. "I have never had anyone care for me as much as you do, and I can't express into words how much I love you for it." He added with a small smile. "It's just..." Jack trailed of, and then with a long sigh, added. "I don't know."
"What is it, Jack?" I looked him in the eye.
"I-it's just that I could have, I could have killed you." Jack looked at his lap in despair.
"No, Jack, you would never kill me. You're not like him." I tried to reassure Jack. He just sighed in response and then looked up to stare at my face. A broad smile was plastered onto his face.
"I love you, so much." Jack said softly.
"I love you too, Jack, more than anyone." We then embraced each other and stared out of the window in front of us. After a few minutes, my eyelids dropped, and I fell into a deep sleep.
For the first time this year, I had a good dream.

And it was of Jack.
