10. Chapter 10

~~Lucy's POV

After the confrontation with Anti once again, I ran home to my apartment as fast as my legs could carry me. Once there, I slammed the heavy oak door shut behind me and leaned against it, my pale, lifeless face in my hands. I stayed there for what felt like an eternity, staring at my white pristine home while my thoughts ate me alive. I was lost. I tried so hard to help Jack, to tear him away from Anti, but it all just backfired. He just laughed at me. Like I was a child.
Suddenly, a feeling of rage crept it's way into my brain, and I kicked the wall next to me. I kicked it so hard that it left a large dent in it and sent a sharp pain through my foot. Why is this happening to me? Why me? I questioned myself. I looked longingly at the damaged wall in front of me, took a deep breath in and exhaled, trying to calm myself. I had so many questions, but not enough answers. However, I did know one thing: Anti will wish he was never born. I'm going to save Jack.
Whatever it takes.

Jack's POV

The last thing I remembered was seeing those bastards bullying Lucy again. I just know that I felt angry and, and... It must have happened again. I was standing in the streets near my apartment, staring at the rows upon rows of grey buildings ahead of me. It was then that I came to the conclusion. The conclusion to leave the country. Leave for good. I can't stay here if Lucy is in danger. In danger of me. I had been from country to country, continent to continent, trying to get this thing out of my head. It's not worked. If anything, it's just made him more excited. But I have never met anyone like Lucy. She doesn't care about Anti. She might actually care about me. Not Anti, me. But if I can't control him, then he may... He may... I shook my head, refusing to think about the tormenting things he could do to her. I straightened my back, ran my fingers through my hair, and headed to my apartment. I have some packing to do.

A few hours later

Once I got home, I looked on the Internet for the earliest flights to France. I don't care where I'm going, as long as it's far from Lucy. There's a flight at 6:00. It's 2:00 now. Luckily, there were a few seats left on the plane, so I booked the flight. I packed up my clothes and all my other belongings. I'm not going to tell Lucy, if I do she may come after me, and I can't have that. I can't have her stopping me, Anti could come out. So I just took my suitcase and headed for the door.

Lucy's POV

After examining my bruised foot, I decided to find Jack. I left my apartment and headed for Jack's home. If it takes asking every single person in America to find where he lives, then so be it. I arrived at 6th street, and saw a tall, grey apartment building ahead of me, may as well try there first, I thought. I entered the building and saw someone standing in the lobby. A large woman with short, light brown hair that ended at her shoulders, thin pale lips and deep brown eyes.
"Excuse me? Do you know if a person called Sean lives here? Green hair? Blue eyes?" I asked the woman.
"Um, yes. Apartment 16B." Her voice was very high pitched, which I did not expect.
"Do you know if he's in?" I didn't want to waste my time if he wasn't even in his apartment.
"He just left. He was carrying a suitcase, must be going to the airport or somethin'."
"The airport?" I said astounded. Why would he be going to the airport? Is he leaving? No, he wouldn't do that. Would he? "Are you sure?" I asked her.
"Definitely seemed like it." She responded.
"O-ok." I ran out of the building, not bothering to thank the woman. It was pouring down with rain, but I didn't care. I called a taxi and asked for the airport. Would Jack really leave without telling me? I stared out of the window, fogged up due the rain. Jack is not leaving, that I am sure of.
