Roll Dice With Fate

Everyone gets a pen when they're 15. It's a pen with invisable ink. You can do anything with it. But you won't be able to see what you write or draw. It just appears somewhere else. Specifically, on the body or paper of your soulmates'. You're set to marry that person. Fate said so. Mila Auttums recieved her pen, but never used it. Until now. Not much. Just one word. She didn't expect anything to happen. Expect it did. Dax Cannel replied.

1. Prologue

"Mila Auttums!", the loud, voice boomed.

It was her turn.

She stood up and wiped her sweaty palms on her jeans. She took a deep breath and tried to calm herself. Her nerves were pratically singing as she walked over the the large, wooden double doors at the end of the hall. The rest of the kids in the hall, sitting in their chairs, watched her go by. She held her head up high as she walked towards the doors. She stopped in front of them as they opened automatically. She walked into the domed room. The walls were painted a silver-white and there was a podium in the center of the room. That's it. On the podium was a huge book, open to a random page somewhere in the middle. The pages were old and had a yellowish tint to them. They were blank. On the top right corner, there was an ink well built into the podium. Next to that, there was the pen.

The pen.

She looked at the pen, scared to touch it. It had so much power. It decided who you would be with forever. She walked towards it and the doors closed behind her. Swallowing her fear, she grabbed the pen before she could change her mind. A long lock of thick, black hair fell into her eyes, and she tucked it behind her ear. Staring at the pen, mesmerized by it she took the whole thing in. All it was was a silver fountain pen with a cap on the end. She looked up and walked towards the ink well and book. She could write anything into the book. But no one would see it. Except her "soulmate" which fate has choosen for her. Even she wouldn't be able to see it. Instead, she turned, and started walking towards the doors. But before they opened, she hid the pen in the hem of her pants and pulled her shirt over it. One of the only rules of the "ceremony" was that no one but you could see your pen. The doors opened and she walked out with her head held high. The other kids heads whipped around to watch her pass, trying to see if they could get a glimpse of Mila's pen. As she turned the corner, on her way home, she heard the loud voice bellow, "Dax Cannel!"

The name entranced her and she turned around to see if she could get a glimpse of the boy. She saw a tall boy stand. He wore a black t-shirt and faded blue jeans with black sneakers. He had silver hair and pale, white skin. He turned and Mila's eyes met his and she was taken aback by their dazzling blue. Before she could get lost in his gaze, an escort bot drove her away.
