Baby Mine

Adelaide Elizabeth Parrilla was born to Lana Maria Parrilla and has an unknown father. Lana didn't want to expose her baby to celebrity life so gave lil Addie up for adoption. When Adelaide was one Lana decided to look for her baby and finds Addie just a few weeks before her third birthday. It was difficult at first but a happy ending is at the end of the tunnel

26. Boy or Girl?

Two Months later….

Lana’s POV

I had promised Sean we would go to the doctor in September but I waited until October to actually go. I was four months pregnant and my niece and nephew were two months old. Dr. Reese had called me many times but I never made an appointment. It was nearly Halloween and I had already bought Addie the cutest little Halloween costume. She was going to be a little mini Zelena. When Bex saw that she nearly died. So, the next day Bex bought Lizzie an Evil Queen baby costume.

I woke up with a headache and with morning sickness. I got up and ran to the bathroom. After I got sick I washed my face and got on the scales.

“I wasn’t this fat when I was pregnant with Addie! Why have I gained so much weight? You little one is going to kill me before six months are over.”

I heard Sean knock at the door.

“Are you ready? The doctor’s appointment is at 10 it’s nearly 10. I already dropped Addie of at Bex’s.”

“Okay, let me get dressed.”

I walk out of the bathroom and Sean wraps his arms around me. He leans down and kisses me.

“I love you Lana.”

“I love you too Sean. This baby, something’s not right.”

“I’m sure everything is going to be okay. Don’t you worry about a thing cause every little thing is gonna be alright.”

“Are you singing?”

“Trying too.”

Sean gave me one last kiss and let go.

“What was Addie wearing today?”

“Her blue tutu and pink shirt with the big purple feather and she wore her green shoes.”

“Did she pick it out?”

“So, she’s at Bex’s.”

“Yep when we got their she ran to Bex and gave Bex a big hug and then ran into Lizzie’s nursery and just stared at Lizzie. Then Bex got Lizzie, sat down and let Addie feed Lizzie. It was so adorable.”

“What are we going to do tomorrow?”

“Well Colin, Marcus and Josh are going to take care of the five kids whilst you girls go get Mani Pedi’s. Your sisters have agreed to get the gender color of the baby painted.”

“Sounds wonderful. Well go get dressed, I’m going to go get dressed as well.”

I walk over to my closet and pull out my dark brown khaki dress. I then pulled it over my head and snapped the buttons in place. I put on a pair of white socks and my brown boots. Then I straightened my hair and put on foundation. I put on concealer, highlight, blush, strobe, and contour. Then I applied my capricious lipstick with plum lip liner. Next, I moved to my eyes. I did my famous smoky eye in brown and drew on my eye liner. Finally, my face was done and I was ready to go.

I walked out of the master bath and back into the bedroom. Sean stood in a t- shirt and a pair of blue jeans with his cow boy boots. When he saw me, he smiled and came to kiss me again.

“Why are you all dressed up? It’s only a doctor’s appointment.”

“It’s only the first, it’s only October and it’s only when we find out if we’re having a boy or a girl in five months. We need to start the nursery, we have that guest room.”

“Sure, I’ll clean it up tomorrow.”

“You aren’t going to baby sit Addie with Marcus, Colin and Josh.”

“I’ll keep Addie home.”

“Fine miss out spending time with your friends.”

“Liam and Elizabeth are fussy anyway.”

I grab my purse and Sean grabs his keys, we get into the car and head on to Dr. Reese’s office. A few minutes pass and we’re checked in and waiting patiently to be called back. Sean holds my hand as we wait. This is my second child but the first time anyone actually was there for me. I never asked Sean to go to my appointment’s when I was pregnant with Addie, I never asked anyone really. Bex came a few times but that was it. When Addie was born Dr., Reese was in the room and she kept trying to convince me not to give up Addie but I did.

I was happy that Sean and I were married, this child wasn’t growing out of wedlock. I was three months pregnant and afraid that they wouldn’t be able to tell the gender. Addie had been born in 2016 and they weren’t able to tell this early. It was 2019 and technology was further advanced. I would have my baby in March of 2020.

“Maguire, Lana. Right this way please.”

Sean stood up and helped me up out of my seat. He held my hand as we followed the nurse down a long hall and into the exam room. The ultrasound machine was already set up and a disposable cotton gown was already waiting for me. It was covered with little blue and pink feathers. I knew Dr. Reese had picked it out just for me.

“Take a seat, change and Dr. Reese will be in shortly.”

“Thank you.”

“No thank you Mrs. Maguire. Wait…”

The nurse paused and just stared at me. I could tell she had once see me before. I knew she couldn’t quite put her finger on it though.

“Dr. Reese delivered your daughter three years ago. On May 13. Your Lana Parrilla.”

“Yes, I am, well technically Lana Maguire now.”

“Well congrats on the new addition. Well Dr. Reese should be in shortly.”

“Thank you.”

The nurse left and I reached for the paper gown. Sean stands in front of the door as I quickly change. A few moments later I’m sitting on the exam bed and waiting for Dr. Reese. She came in with a big smile and her hair was still as curly as ever. She gave me a hug and went to work setting up the monitor. After typing in a few things and checking my blood pressure she got out the gel and turned on the machine. I leant back and lifted up my shirt. I pulled the blanket up just a little bit and let her apply the cold gel.

“Lana why didn’t you come sooner. You’re right at 20 weeks and should’ve come sooner.”

“When’s my due date?”

“When did you get pregnant?”

“Our wedding night.”

“When was that?”

“June 15.”

“You’re due March 15. 53 days before Adelaide Elizabeth’s fourth birthday.”

“I like doing math. I’ve memorized the calendar.”

“Okay, well March 15 it is.”

“Would you like to know the gender?”

I turn to Sean and he nods his head. He stands up and comes over to stand beside me so he could get a better look at the screen. I squeeze his hand.

“Sean, we need to come up with two names before we find out.”

“Well we have Adelaide Elizabeth, there’s Elizabeth Maria, Liam David, Hugo and Oliver. Marcus, Colin, Josh, Jared. What about naming our son after me?”

“Sean Michael Martin Maguire Jr.?”

“No Samuel Michael Maguire after his father and grandfather.”
“I love that Sean. What about if it’s a little girl? I personally love the name Allison Victoria.”

“I was thinking after your sister Deena, your Aunt Candace and your mother Delores.”

“I like Allison Victoria Maguire.”

“Okay it’s settled, Dr. Reese you may proceed.”

‘Yes Mr. Maguire.”

Reese put more cold gel on my abdomen and started moving around the stick. She kept moving it and moving it. She typed in codes and information before stopping and pointing to the screen.

“There’s one heartbeat and there’s the other.”

         Reese laughed.

“I’m just joking, no not twins. There’s clearly only one.”

“Thank goodness, I couldn’t handle twins.”

“I assure you it’s not twins…tell me what you wanted?”
“We wanted a boy because one girl is enough.”

“Her sister Bex just had a girl, her sister Jen just had a boy so that leave three baby boys in the group and two girls. We would like to keep boy to girl ratio uneven.”

“Are you going to be happy regardless?”
“As long as our son or daughter is healthy and thriving.”

“Well congragulations Mr. and Mrs. Maguire, I hope you’re happy because in five months your beautiful Allison Victoria will be in your arms.”

I smile as I watch baby Allison move around on the ultrasound. I was pregnant again with another daughter. Another daughter, I wiped away a tear and Sean gave me a big kiss. When the kiss broke Dr. Reese gave me my new appointment and let us go.

“Your next appointment in November 15. See you then.”

“See you next month.”

As we walk out towards the car, Sean turns and gathers me into his arms. He kisses me.

“Lana when I met you, you were married to Fred and I didn’t think he appreciated what you did. I was instantly in love with you. When Fred died I thought my time had finally come. Then you got pregnant with Addie and I still waited. Then you gave away Addie and finally came around. I’m sorry you gave up Addie but it brought us together. I married you and Addie’s my daughter just as much as our daughter is.”

“I love you Sean, I love Addie and I love Allie.”

“Addie and Allie Maguire, whose mother is the beautiful Lana Maria. Whose aunts are the beautiful Jennifer Marie and Rebecca Leigh. Whose cousin is the little Elizabeth Maria. I love our family Lana.”

“Sean what is family?”

“Ohana means family, family means no one gets left behind or forgotten.”

“Next time I get pregnant I’m going to give you the son you deserve. You put up with me, you put up with Addie and you’re going to deal with Allison.”

Sean kisses me and helps me into the car. I rest a hand on my swollen belly and softly whisper.

“I love you Allie. Darling Allison Victoria Maguire, Mommy loves you.”

I can remember doing this three years before, I was pregnant with Addie and I remember getting into the driver’s seat after finding out I was going to have a daughter. I did the same thing but I whispered.

“I love you Addie. Darling Adelaide Elizabeth Parrilla, Mommy loves you.”

I look up and turn to Sean who’s driving.

“Sean is this a fresh start? I’m I going to be allowed to fix my mistake and raise my daughter from birth.”

“You didn’t get to do it with Addie so now you can do it with Allie.”
