I’m going up to get changed mam, Iris and I are going to see Rod Stewart tonight.’

“Would you like me to drive you there, I mean we can pick up Iris if you like?’

“I think you have things to discuss with Tim haven’t you mam?’

“He can wait, you are more important to me than him.’

“Okay, give me an hour to wash and change.

“When Margaret had left the room Rose Stewart shed a few tears. Her life was a mess and Margaret was right. Tim didn’t love her’ she was just a convenience. He treated her like a doormat and she ran after him, making his meals and doing his laundry which he didn’t even appreciate. She would slave away making his favourite meals and bake for him. All his clothes were washed and neatly ironed for him to wear and he never even acknowledged the fact. It was just expected. He was taking her for granted but no more she thought. When Tim walked in a half hour later he never said hi. He just said; “what’s for dinner I’m starving.’

He walked in with his dirty boots on even though she’d told him a hundred times to take them off at the door. She bought him slippers to wear as well but he just trailed his dirty boots into her kitchen and sat down.

“Is there any tea in the pot?’

Rose was about to go and make his some then decided not to.’

“We have got to talk Tim.’

“What about now, look I said I’d cut the lawn at the weekend.’

It had been over a month since he’d cut the lawn the last time and it was looking untidy.’

“It’s not about the lawn Tim.’

“What the hell is it about then, look I’m hungry is there anything to eat or what.’

“There is plenty of food in the freezer.’

“What you haven’t made me anything?’

“No I haven’t had time; I had to speak with my daughter, you know the one that you cannot stand being around because she has Down’s.

“Look what’s up with you; I’ve just walked in and you’re on my case straight away.’

“It’s you Tim, I’m just sick and tired of you coming in here treating me and Margaret like some convenience.’ I want you to leave, I want you to pack your things and get the hell out of my house.’

“Your house,’

“Yes my house, my name is on those deeds.’ Go find some other mug who will do your dirty washing and cook your meals because I’ve had enough.’

“There’s plenty of women out there who want me you know.’

“Well they are welcome to you; now get of my house and don’t come back, you are nothing but a selfish dirty scrounger who uses people. I don’t know what I was thinking about when I got with you. ’Oh yes, you came across as this charming man to begin with but it is all just an act.’ Well the show is over, so just bugger off and leave us alone.’

Tim grabbed his coat and as he walked out he turned and said: “you weren’t that good in bed anyway.’

“Neither were you, so don’t flatter yourself. “What you have between your legs needs teasing out with a piece of lettuce, tortoise dick.’ And Bye the way, leave your keys before you go.’

Tim went into his pocket then put the keys on the window ledge on his way out.
