[The Savior: After the fall]

Humanity has encountered thousands of wars and conflict but none which could rival the scale of the massive destruction, The Fall. Since The Fall, mankind has reached its turning point. Technology could no longer advance and majority of the population were wiped out. Who is the savior of this world?

5. The Revenge

"Need a hand?" The person, who seems to be in his twenties, offered a help. I would have normally refused a help if it was against a human opponent or if it had involved luring others into deep trouble, but his confident expression told me that it was alright to do so.

"I would really need it right now," I closed my right eye, showing expression of troubled face yet persistence to .endure it. I don't know why I smiled back then.

I noticed that he carried a large weapon on his back. I understood that it was basic in this world that carrying a melee weapon would be efficient way of saving bullets, but there was something wrong with his choice of weapon. Compared to most of the weapons that a man ever held within his hand. His weapon wasn't even close to the size of the longest sword. It was at least over three meters, it has to weight more than fifty kilogram considering its voluminous blade. By natural selection, people who have survived to this day have at least athletic-level of physical ability(not that it can compete with the Fallen) but using that sword will require great control of momentum and a single mistake should be more than enough to leave a blank spot. Not to mention the speed of these creatures. However, his handling with the sword had completely changed my opinion.

If I were to carry that sword, it would be better to drag it around rather than carry it on me even if it means that the sword will get damaged whenever I drag it around. However, not a single trace of dragging was scene anywhere near him. It seems that he carried it with just one of his hand all this way. And the most surprising fact is that his figure was rather lean and non-muscular, I expected him to be at least a bodybuilder to do the same thing.

"Krrrrr..." The Fallen somehow started to show the sign of the fear for the first time in my life. It somehow refused to approach the unknown man. It was as if looking at the same side of a magnetic.

One of the Fallen began charging toward the unknown man, the speed of that Fallen at that time was estimated to be exceeding hundreds miles per hour barrier, faster than majority of cars. It would have been like hitting a extremely heavy baseball, but the unknown man didn't flinch against the Fallen, he stood there as if he was minding something else. I couldn't imagine what he was going to do next at this moment.
