I’ve always been the play it safe girl. I don’t drink, do drugs, or even go to parties. I’m always the goody two shoes who has never done a bad thing in her life. Falling in love was the last thing I expected to happen to me. The worse thing about it was that he was my older brother’s best friend, Kyle Mori.

5. Zoe POV: Chapter 5

Warning bells are flashing in my head but I ignore all signs, falling in too deeply to go back. That is until Kyle pulled back snapping me out of it. Ashamed, embarrassed, humiliated, I ran as fast as I could into my house and slam the door shut. What have I just done?

PRESENT DAY

Kyle hasn’t shown up since the incident two weeks ago and I don’t know how I feel about it. Mostly hurt though. If I’ve known he was going to avoid seeing me, I wouldn’t have done it. I’d give anything up for things to turn back to the way they were. At least then Kyle actually came around.

Summer eventually came around and I got hired at a coffee shop that was close to home. Eventually I stopped seeing Kyle too.

“Can I just get a black coffee please?” The attractive guy who just walked in asked, snapping me out of my day dream.

“Of course, it’ll be up in a minute.” I tell him before going to fetch a pot of fresh coffee. When I brought the coffee to his table I see a beautiful blonde standing in front of him. I knew it. He definitely had a girlfriend with those looks. Not that I was ever interested. When he sees me coming he smiles. The kind of smile I’ve seen often on my brother Seth when he’s about to cause a lot of trouble.

“That’s my girlfriend.” The dude suddenly say pointing his finger to me. What when? Blonde looks over at me and yep she has blue eyes. She grimace when she sees me and turns back around.

“Your girlfriend works at a coffee shop?” She says with disgust in her tone, as if working in a coffee shop was some disgraceful job.

“Well at least I’m not unemployed still living under my parents basement.” I make a wild guess, because she seemed like the type to never worked a day in her life. Dude burst out  laughing and blonde face goes red as a tomato. Bingo.
