I’ve always been the play it safe girl. I don’t drink, do drugs, or even go to parties. I’m always the goody two shoes who has never done a bad thing in her life. Falling in love was the last thing I expected to happen to me. The worse thing about it was that he was my older brother’s best friend, Kyle Mori.

2. Kyle POV: Chapter 2

When things don’t make sense, I think of her. I think of Zoe. She’s always on my mind, but I know I’m bad for her. To her I’m probably just another of her big brother best friend. I already know that, but staying away is harder than said when she’s around all the fucking time. It wasn’t always like this though. I used to just think of her as my best friend kid sister, that is until she grew older and boys started liking her. Knowing fully well they definitely has a better chance than I did, pissed me off even more. The age gap between us was too much.

I look at the time; 3:35. Zoe’s supposed to be back from school by now. But there was still no sign of her bike coming around the corner with the wind blowing her hair off her shoulder, as she smiles brightly at me. Or at her older brother. Whatever, I didn’t pay much attention to details.

“Where the hell is Zoe?” Seth, my best friend and Zoe’s older brother finally asks.

“Let’s go find her.” I casually say, already grabbing the car keys, I head out while he follows me. And that wasn’t just totally obvious that you liked his sister. Good job, Kyle.

We’re about a block away from Seth’s house when I spot Zoe and a bunch of highschool jocks with her. As we got closer I notice that the taller one in the middle got my baseball cap in his hands, while Zoe with her 5 ft 4 inches tries to reach for it. I grip the steering wheel and speed up to stop in front of them. I even honked to fully get their attention.

“What’s going on?” Seth asks when he rolls his window down.

“None of your business, so fuck off.” The taller one with my hat still in his hands answers. Seth bursts into laughter while I glare at the guy and smirk.

“I guess you don’t know who we are. Should we refresh your memories for you little boys.” Seth say as we got out of the car. “Seth Myers and Kyle Mori. Ring any bells?”

Some of the guys whisper to each other and their face drops. Seth and I were known throughout the town during our high school days, mostly for always getting into fights.

“Seth and Kyle? Never heard of you before-” Taller one starts to bark before his friends covers his mouth. The guy was tall I’ll give him that, but Seth and I was at least a whole three inches taller.

“S-sorry Seth. Sorry Kyle. He’s in town, that’s why he didn’t recognize you. This won’t happen again. Sorry.” One of the guy stutters out before they all struggle to escape, dragging tall one with them.

“That hat you’ve got. It’s mine.” I say and one of the guys rip it out of taller one's hands before running it to me.

“S-sorry.” He apologize before quickly running back.

I brush it off and put it back on Zoe. It looked good on her.
