“Hope remembers what I said. You’re the new flashlight. You will be a great leader in my place. “

“No Mommy no.”

“Megan, you are strong, you are brave. You are like Megara Sophia Anna, in her better days. The only difference is that you aren’t evil. You are better than her. Just because you don’t have magic doesn’t mean you aren’t special.”

“I love you Mommy, please don’t leave us.”

“Bexana Laurie, look at you. Bex you’re responsible, take care of your sisters. Make sure Hope obeys and listens. Did you hear her girls? She’s not your mother but she knows what’s right and what’s wrong.”

“Yes Mommy, I understand.”

I tried to keep my eyes open but I felt drowsy. I think I fainted because Bex was shaking me and trying to keep me awake. The second I closed my eyes, I would drift of into a sleep that which from I would never wake. The girls didn’t seem to want to let go of me. I tried to speak but I pointed to the cedar box on my vanity.

Hope carefully climbed off my lap and retrieved the box. She sat back on my lap and the twins peered over my shoulders. I shifted through the pieces and looked for something to give my daughters. Finally I pulled out a necklace that had a feather dangling from the pendant. The feather was engraved with a single word ‘hope’. I spoke about it’s meaning while I tied it around Hope’s neck.

“Your father gave this to me on my 21st birthday. It’s supposed to go to you on your 15th but you can wear it now. As soon as I’m buried you give it to your father and he’ll give it back when you turn 15. Do you understand Hope?”

“Yes Mama.”

Hope wrapped her arms around me and finally let go. I looked through the jewelry box and found the necklaces that were intended for Megan and Bexana. One was a blue heart aquamarine with a pink diamond center. The other was a pink diamond heart with an aquamarine center. I tied both necklaces around both my daughters.

“The same applies to you. You can wear it now but on your 15th birthday you can have it forever. Your father gave me both necklaces on my 25th birthday, the day you two came into this world.”

The girls bid me goodbye and I sat in silence. Robin came in holding Hunter in one arm and Roland in the other. He placed both my boys in my arms and sat next to me.

“I thought you would like to hold them one last time.”

“I would…I don’t want to leave…the blood stopped a few hours ago…but I’m dying…”

Hunter’s eyes were open and he stared up at me. He looked a little bit like his sister Hope. Roland’s eyes were open too and he looked a bit like his sister Hope as well. I held my twins and watched Robin watch me. He smiled and I coughed.

“I want to remember you like this forever. We should’ve gotten a portrait made.”

“Zelena can speed paint. With magic.”

A few hours later I was dressed in my best dress, the twins were wearing uniforms and nestled in my arms. Both my twin daughters wore matching but opposite dresses and stood next to me on the chair. Hope sat on a stool directly in front of me and wore her hunting dress. Robin stood behind me with his hand on my shoulder. Hades stood beside Robin and Sarah Michelle sat with Hope. Zelena held Merlin in her arms and stood by me. The magic paintbrush painted excellently and I watched it being hung from my deathbed.

My family gathered around my bed and bid their final goodbyes. I was hugged, kissed and loved. Tears streamed down my face as my chest rattled and shook with my last breath. I was supposed to die but I didn’t want to die. Each member of my family hugged me, kissed bid and bid a final goodbye.  Zelena counted to three and the whole family shouted.

“Goodbye we love you and we’ll miss you!”

“I love you guys too!”

My body shook into a coughing fit and I couldn’t gasp for breath. All my family tried so hard not to help because they couldn’t help. I felt the blood start to come out again and I realized I was dying. I leant back against the colors and my eyes seemed to open and shut at a fast rate without me even trying. I gripped my wedding ring in my hand and cried. I couldn’t breath.

A white light engulfed the room and standing in the corner was the figure in white that visited me nearly a year ago.  She removes her hood and emerges as my mother Cora. It was my mother who predicted my death and predicted the birth of the twins. I stand up from my bed and walk over to her. My beautiful
