Sunlight streamed through my windows and I was bathed in its warmth. The little birdies sang a merry tune and kindly asked me to open my eyes so I wouldn’t miss out on this perfect day. Today I was to be married to the kind and noble King Robin Hood of Sherwood Forrest. I knew Robin and I would be equally pleased with each other and the setting couldn’t be more perfect. My wedding dress was made of silk and had a white tulle material over it. In the tulle material were tiny little pearls. My sleeves were elbow length and the edges had little pearls stitched into them. My veil was a layer upon layers of Belgian lace with even more little pearls. My favorite part of my wedding attire was my glass slippers. My perfect little glass slippers to make the wedding even more magnificent and on top of it all I was at last allowed to wear Mother’s diamond tiara upon my copper curls.

7. Regina's Arrival

The months seemed to fly by as the kingdom prepared for their heir and for Robin’s marriage to my sister. My belly seemed to grow larger with every passing day and knowing my family’s past history with pregnancy it probably did grow every day. All my ladies could talk about now a day was whether or not I was carrying a son or daughter. Every step I took I would run into a wall or trip over my heels. It wasn’t hard to tell that I was now clumsy and now just ready to pop this little bitty baby out.

One day in particular will forever be imbedded in my memory. No matter how hard I will try to channel that anger and push the memory far back into my mind it will continue to be always in my mind and whenever I feel upset or if I’m pregnant. I will never forget what happened on this one special day in my life. I woke up to gunfire and I was worried that Sherwood was getting attacked; I ran over to my window and looked out in the courtyard. Apparently my sister Regina had arrived early and she brought Robin a highly expensive gun that has to be made from three magicians.        Mother, Regina and someone else would have had to put their magic together to make the gun. The gun went off again and the baby kicked hard. She or he obviously didn’t like the noise and I wished my husband would just put up his toy already. Regina was down with him and she was wearing a beautiful yellow dress, she wore a big red bow in her brown hair, she wore big blue feather earrings and blue glass slippers. I could see her red lipstick from the fifth story window. She looked up at me and gave me a sly little wave before kissing Robin’s cheek. I turned around and didn’t see him push her away.

My maids came in a few moments later and straightened my copper curls to perfection. I was helped as I slipped on my perfect little emerald dress that framed my belly perfectly. My face was contoured and my lipstick was done. I slipped on my emerald green glass slippers and picked out the biggest diamond ring in my collection so I could flaunt my stuff at my darling unmarried little sister. I was so entranced I didn’t realize that my maid Dorothy was talking to me.

“Your Majesty as I was saying your sister arrived wearing a yellow dress wouldn’t you like to wear a dress that contrasts with the yellow color? Perhaps a dark blue, or maybe a nice dark red color to compliment your hair and shadow your pregnant belly?”

“No. Thank you though. I’m sure Sherwood will never know her as their queen. It’s only by my permission that Robin marries her. And as queen of Sherwood and Enchantria I can dig up nasty stuff about my darling sister.”
            “As you wish Your Majesty.”

“Now please tell the King I will be with him shortly. And tell the court that the Queen will comes down soon. Emphasis on Queen please?”

“ As you wish Queen Zelena.”

“ And Dorothy you look magnificent in your blue dress and your shoes are so red.”

“Your majesty gave them too me.”

“I know, you look stunning and I think Scarecrow thinks so too.”

I hid a giggle behind her hand. Scarecrow was the nickname I had given Damien. Damien had a crush on Dorothy and Dorothy had a crush on her. Damien always wore a black shirt and his eyes were so brown you could’ve sworn that they were black. Damien was King Robin’s royal advisor and he oversaw everything that passed through the King’s study.

“ Scarecrow? What my husband calls Lord Damien? Your lover?”

Dorothy blushed and bowed. She was dismissed and I finally decided to go see my husband and sister. I ignored the dull pain in my lower abdomen and I climbed down the stairs and walked towards the throne room. Servants and nobility all bowed to the Queen’s presence. I smiled and grinned and clenched my teeth and the pains that just grew stronger with every passing moment. I wished the pain would go away but it didn’t.
