You're cleaning out your attic one day and you find a box full of crystal balls. Each glass globe contains a single name. You break the glass globe on accident and immediatly a person appears. What happens next? Who is the person? Where do they take you and what do they say?

6. A Whole New World

“Happy Birthday Elizabeth! Wake up darling for today is your 18th birthday.”

I opened my eyes and found myself in a red nightgown. Lady Seraphine stood watching me sleep. I saw her blue eyes and her long black hair was in braids. She wore a blue dress with a black corset. Lord James stood by the window and I closed my eyes as they began talking.

“Sera, she broke the globes! Didn’t you warn her not too? Regina and Sean will come for her.”

“No James I didn’t warn her.”

“Get her ready, she needs to prepare to celebrate her birthday as the princess she is.”

“James she’s our daughter.”

“No she’s their daughter! She isn’t the princess of the Colter Kingdom, she belongs in the darkness.”

“James, I raised her! She committed suicide to get away from those awful people! I won’t send her back! This is my world and my rules!”

“NO SERA I’m KING and have been for 18 YEARS!”

“Seraphine, you end this world you end your daughter.”

I watched as my mother and father embraced each other and kissed each other. Mother always told me when I was younger that their fights always ended with a hug and a kiss. I was watching them together for the first time in my life. Father had died shortly after my birth, shortly after Mother dropped the globe. I listened to them whisper and I woke up.

Mother found me awake and James left the room. He turned back and looked at me and said.

“I love you Elizabeth, come see me later okay”

“Yes Father.”

Mother helped me out of bed and left my hair down. She ran a comb through my hair and helped me slip on the glass shoes and simple pink dress. I hugged her and breathed in the scent of her perfume. She wrapped her arms around me and I shed a single tear.

“Happy birthday Elizabeth, today in this world you aren’t eighteen.”

“How old am I?”
“Our world moves at a slower pace, you are fourteen today. Happy birthday Elizabeth, I love you and I bid you never forget.”

“I love you to Mother.”

“Now go you have to meet your father. He’s been waiting to meet you since you were born.”

“Mother, you might not be my real mother but when you broke the glass globe, you did give birth to me and you did raise me. You are my mother.”

“Oh Elizabeth, my own heart. I love you sweetie.”
