Anna went from living on the streets to on the road to fame. But some of it isn't what she had dreamed of. This is her memoir.

4. Consequences and The Accident

I was on the floor, working on a full. I was running at full speed, launched myself into the air, and realized I was flying and I was going to get to my goal after all, I was going to land it and get over my mental barrier. But I thought for a second too long. Before I knew it, I was lying on the ground, my arm numb, and my brain fuzzy.

I turned out I had broken my arm in three places and my nose in two. I felt like an idiot. So I was secluded back to my gymnastics coach and New York City (or so I thought), as the school expelled me because I was no longer useful. I had spent a year at the boarding school already, and I was so busy I didn't stop to think I hadn't heard from my gymnastics coach in over a year, as I spent summer at the school too, doing campy things to replace schoolwork. A woman at the school drove me back to the city's police, and they took it from there.
