Shift in Reality

Carrie Kiss is the new girl in a perfectly normal town or so it seems. Living beside the woods has been the ideal scenery for starting anew. That is until she gets an unexpected guest. Because Carrie has a secret. One that has her running away from everything she once knew and believed.

Liam Kimber is the resident badass. Somewhat of a loner, no one dares to cross him at least if they value their life. Apart from being the son of an Alpha, he is the strongest and most brutal werewolf of them all.

What happens when these two people, both attempting to escape their destiny, cross paths? Let's just say, sparks will fly.

14. To first dates

"I seem to be overdressed. I probably should head back home and change, if I want to be seen with you."

Liam teased when Carrie stepped out of her house. Her sight was breath-taking to his eyes and he had been in an exceptionally good mood all day, despite his nagging and worries about him actually not securing her love for him.

Carrie sighed in exasperation, worried that he might actually be serious and she had indeed outdone herself, but at her cry instead, he had started chuckling, before linking their arms and drawing her close to his body and frame "Just kidding, you look ever like beauty herself."

Carrie blushed and told him to thank you, he linked her arm with his and proceeded to drag her along with him. Carrie then asked him "Where are we going?" Liam looked at her and smirked, a mischievous glint in his gorgeous eyes.

"We're being rebels tonight."

"Excuse me?"

"Wait and see, but for now we're taking a long stroll to our destination while we talk about our lives."

Carrie shook her head at him but smiled curiously to see where or what he planned for them to do. Like he said Carrie found herself sharing stories of her childhood and the places she had been with him, while he also exchanged stories with her, oblivious to the people walking around amongst them.

Finally, they reached a blank white wall and on the floor beside it, where spray cans of different colours. Liam pulled away from her to look her directly in the face as he said: "We're graffitin' this wall, with whatever comes to mind, so grab a spray can and let's get creative."

Carrie was in shock never in her life had she ever gone on a date like this, or knew anyone's whose first date was out drawing on a wall. But a grin took over her face, because of how spontaneous and fun the experience would turn out to be.

They filled the wall with doodles and cartoons, Liam had written in a beautiful font their names with a love in the middle, which had had her blushing. By the time they were finished with the wall hours had passed, and they both were a laughing mess, having laughed and made fun of each other throughout the whole experience.

"What made you come up with this idea?" Carrie asked him when they found themselves seated in a booth at a random fast food restaurant ready to dig into their burger and chips meals. "I just thought it did be fun, loosen you up a bit." Carrie nodded her head, her date with Liam felt right and extremely different from the one she had with Tony, which despite being good she hadn't even concentrated on it or learnt anything relevant about him...better yet she was looking forward and already anticipating the end of the date kiss from him.

"Liam Kimber...?"

Carrie looked to see a pretty brunette holding a food tray stopping by their table. Looking at Liam with utter disbelief and outrage. Liam, on the other hand, looked indifferent and like he just wanted her to get lost.

"You bastard!"

Before Liam could say anything or react, she poured her ice cold drink directly on Liam's pant, who just sat there, gripping the table and looking ready to kill someone before she flounced off and left people watching Liam and still trying to process the scene they had just seen.

Liam and Carrie sat there unmoving for moments, Liam worried that Carrie would be mad and wouldn't think he was being serious with her when Carrie burst into laughter. He looked at her in shock, his body adjusting to the ice that had hit his manhood, had left him in a bit of pain and it was finally withdrawing.

"Hardy ha Carrie, laugh at my expense."

"No one told you to use girls you know."

Was all she said before turning to her food, ignoring him but still giggling. Liam used the napkin to beat off most of the drink from his legs before he dug into his own food. He was hungry and let it not be said that he let food go to waste.

Liam had to carry Carrie back home because she had somewhat become sleepy. He had her on his back, as they walked back to her cottage, talking peacefully, with Liam having to tell people to stop looking at the front of his shorts or growl because of people laughing at him. It was ridiculous but neither would want to change the turnabout of the date because everything that had occurred added up to it being the perfect first date.

Carrie slid from Liam's back when he reached her front porch. Neither of them wasted time and locked lips, Liam's hands find its way to grip her waist and pull her closer to him, while her hand wound around his neck, sinking into the bliss that was his mouth.

Liam could feel it, her feelings for him were going deeper than just a crush and he was happy. When she finally fell in love with him and they kissed, he would feel it in his whole body, because then they did be bonded for life, and then would he be sure no one else could replace her affection and feelings towards him.

"So how was your first date Kissie?" Liam asked her after breaking away, but still in their kissing formed embrace. "The best I have ever had." Liam grinned and stole more kisses from her until regrettably, she yawned.

Liam groaned and then said, "Is my kissing that boring and not up to Kissie's standards?" Carrie hit him playfully, she hadn't meant to yawn but exhaustion was taking over, her day out with him had been excitement none stop, and after all, they had stood for long hours today. "I'm just sleepy."

Liam nodded and lifted her off the floor, taking her inside. He asked her for directions to her room, even though he had committed everything about her to memory. He dropped her on her bed and took off her shoes for her, then her jacket. He was going to remove more when she giggling stopped him, pulled him down to her face and pecked his lips before releasing him.

"Thank you, but I can handle the rest mister. Good night."

She dismissed him from her room, and he just grinned at her, pecking her forehead before leaving her house, to go to his cabin. He just knew that no matter what he did he had to make her fall because the love he felt for her, couldn't even contain his whole body and he did die if the love remained one-sided.

Not wanting to be alone that night, and more than anything else he wished he could sleep in the same bed with Carrie while he held her and slept with them warming each other up. Liam changed into his wolf form and made his way back to her cottage, slipping inside quietly and closing the door with his tail, he went up to her room, to see her sprawled on her bed atop of the covers, in just a huge t-shirt that exposed her beautiful long creamy legs. He let out a low growl and climbed the bed to sleep on the unoccupied side of her bed, resting his head on her thighs, he wished the night hadn't had to end.

In her sleepy state, she knew the wolf had come to join her in her bed, and felt comforted when its head rested on her thighs, sleepily she put her hand on his head and buried her fingers in his furs, drifting back to sleep land.
