Shift in Reality

Carrie Kiss is the new girl in a perfectly normal town or so it seems. Living beside the woods has been the ideal scenery for starting anew. That is until she gets an unexpected guest. Because Carrie has a secret. One that has her running away from everything she once knew and believed.

Liam Kimber is the resident badass. Somewhat of a loner, no one dares to cross him at least if they value their life. Apart from being the son of an Alpha, he is the strongest and most brutal werewolf of them all.

What happens when these two people, both attempting to escape their destiny, cross paths? Let's just say, sparks will fly.

7. Eye opener

Mera and Lenard Kimber were worried, something formidable and big was coming and none of the elders could tell or knew what it was. They knew it would be bigger and more superior to their own wolf form. All they knew was they would want something, that they would not be able to give or let go off.

"Liam, please stay home this week and help Carrie look after Lee and Lace."

"You got her as a nanny for a reason, why should I have to help her?"

"Because I said so."

"I don't need to listen to you," Liam said to his father, but he was only bluffing. He could not defy his father wishes, nor anyone in their pack could defy whatever the Alpha wished upon them. Lenard just ignored his son. He knew more than anything Liam wanted alone time with Carrie and he wasn't an Alpha for no reason. His son had found his mate, who wasn't even afraid of the wolves that instead seemed drawn to them, especially a mahogany one that visited her regularly he scoffed at his son, who thought he was oblivious to his actions.

"I don't think Mera and I will be back by Friday, so she would need your help since we would be springing this on her on the impromptu."

"What is making you both leave, for all these days?"

"Something big is coming our way, Mera has been sensing it for months now, but still we can't find out what it is, we have been meeting with other packs, to get prepared, because whatever it is will go through them, before it reaches us and Mera is sensing a fight is going to happen, because we hold something they want."

"That is impossible," Liam stated to his father, who just shrugged. He felt the same way, but with Mera being The Eye and Luna of the pack, sayings of hers couldn't be taken with anything but seriousness. "Just help Carrie, it would be better for you being human around her instead of a wolf, she may like you." Liam rolled his eyes at his father and left the house, to go to the teen wolves' house.

Carrie did not like his human form one bit, while she loved his wolf. And whose fault was that he questioned himself. He had been nothing short of rude to her, had just shrugged and told her not to thank him for that stormy night. He paid no heed to her presence and was off with any girl he could get his hand on, just to prove a point to whom? That he wasn't ready to settle down Like Blaine and Nikki.

He got to the house before the others and took a seat, waiting for them to pile in, he had to share with them the news he had found out from his father and already sent messages to shock their system to make sure they left whatever it was they were doing to come. He giggled to himself, knowing that they would be annoyed with it.

Everyone came at the same time, Nikki holding onto Carrie's arm. Carrie couldn't be here, he was about to have a private meeting and she couldn't be here. Why did Nikki have to bring her here? He sighed inwardly cursing himself for what he was about to do, but it had to be done.

"Carrie you have to leave. We are having a meeting and you're not a member of the pack." He stated plainly, with no emotion when it was tearing his inside how mean he sounded to her. She just sighed and took her hand out of Nikki's and left the house, slamming the door behind her.

"You didn't have to say it to her so meanly."

Tony said to Liam harshly. Liam eyes widening, he hadn't expected the outburst from Tony who acted indifferently towards everything. Everyone was shocked but chose to ignore it, everyone apart from Sylvia was throwing glares at him, but that was soon forgotten when Liam shared the news with them.

What had she ever done to Liam to be treated like dirt? She was tired of him and his ill placed treatment towards her. She had taken it in stride but not any longer, she had been playing down her character, trying to be nice and understanding letting him treat her anyhow he felt like. She didn't take nonsense from anyone and starting from now she would be her true self again.

Back at the teen wolves meeting, they had finished discussing what they thought might be coming and strategizing on how they would help to keep their town safe. The whole pack had decided they were tired of Liam being pure mean towards Carrie, when she had done nothing to him, except from Sylvia who was always on Liam's side hoping to have him has her mate when he was ready.

"What is it that makes you hate Carrie so much?" Nikki started. Liam looked at her and looked away not wanting to answer her but when he looked up everyone was waiting expectantly for his answer. He sighed and spoke the truth simply "I never said I hated her." He didn't hate her hell how could he when he knew how sweet Carrie was and caring when he ached to spend every moment with her and never wanting his wolf moments with her to end.

"So why treat her like she isn't human?" Dan asked him heatedly

"I don't treat her like she isn't human."

"I beg to differ"

Blaine said back to Liam's reply.

"Do you want her?"

Tony asked him, and everyone's head snapped in his direction but he ignored them and only looked at Liam wanting his answer badly.

"No, I do not want her"

Liam said back heatedly and wanting to kill himself for not being able to voice out his true feelings for the girl he was falling for. "Then I am going to date her, so refrain from being mean to her. I know you can beat me to the pulp, but if you dare be rude to her in my presence, I would not hesitate to beat you up."

Liam growled at To but didn't say anything else. He got up carried Tony by the neck with one hand and slammed him against the nearest wall. "Meeting dismissed." Was all he said before he was out of the door in a flash already a wolf heading towards the woods. He was angry and needed to take it out on something. If he remained human he would wreck everything that came across his part, but in the woods, he could howl and break trees for all he cared.

"Tony, you didn't have to say that." Sylvia chided him. She may not like Carrie because she knew Liam was attracted to her but didn't mean she liked how Liam was treating her, even though she would never voice that opinion out to anyone. And right now Tony didn't know the war and trouble he just waged by that statement.

"Sylvia is right Tony, you know Liam and how he is."

Erik said to Tony, everyone agreeing with him. Tony just smirked at them all and then said. "Well good, because I do like her and want to ask her on a date."

Everyone gasped, not expecting this from Tony, who never showed interest in any girl. This wasn't a good sign and everyone knew it. Hell Liam being mad was torture on all of them, because not only would he take out his anger on Tony but the lot of them not to talk about Carrie. Because they all knew that Liam's wolf had chosen Carrie has his mate and the wolves never lied about their feelings.
