5. This was my first day but I didn't want to call it First day bc that's so unoriginal - FrostWolf

I remember the first day pretty clearly…although I’m told that It should be a blur.  Of course my brain has never worked quite right, in following those stereotypes I mean.

The teachers ushered us into the gym, all 657 of us, and miraculously got us to be quiet for the time being.  We did some funny games and get to know you’s with all the other new freshman…or how the upperclassmen put it, ‘Fresh meat’.  One of the teachers, Mrs. Moritz yelled at us with a bullhorn, trying to get the whole gym quieted down, while other teachers were patrolling the bleachers attempting to keep the already riled up kids from getting even more out of control.

Finally, we were ushered away from the gym into smaller groups, called Link Crew Groups.  They were run by Upperclassmen (Juniors and Seniors) and they were to “initiate” us into High School and help us through the whole freshman year.  They talked and talked and talked, and to be honest I zoned out completely.  I really didn’t give a heck what their experiences were I just wanted my own experiences.  I didn’t want to hear stories about how they survived, I wanted to be thrown into the waters myself and figure out how to survive there too.

*RANDOM SIDE NOTE* OH ONE THING THAT YOU SHOULD ALL KNOW ABOUT ME BEFORE WE GET TOO FAR INTO THIS IS THAT I AM THE BIGGEST DISTRACTION IN THE WORLD.  LIKE I AM THE ONE PERSON THAT EVERYONE KNOWS…YOU EITHER LOVE ME OR YOU HATE ME, THERE IS NO INBETWEEN.  BUT BACK TO THE STORY NOW…

I asked a lot of questions and had a lot more random comments to be said, I was told to shut up and be quiet on numerous occasions, told to sit down and stop drawing on the whiteboard quite a few times more.  There were times when the Link Crew Leaders even threatened to send me out of the classroom because of the distractions I was creating, but hey, this was High School.  I had to be known for something.

*ANOTHER RANDOM SIDE NOTE* I AM THE MOST SOCIAL CHILD IN EXISTENCE.  LIKE YOU COULD THROW ME INTO A ROOM WITH LIKE 99 STRANGERS AND WITHIN 0.4 SECONDS THEY WOULD ALL KNOW ME.  SO YEAH, OKAY BACK ON TOPIC NOW.

I could tell that they were getting weary of me within the first few minutes, but I actually really didn’t care.  If I couldn’t be myself, then who could I be?  I wasn’t just going to change who I was because some older kids didn’t like it.  That just wasn’t who I was.  I wanted to talk, and get to know everyone.  After coming from a school with a 8th grade graduating class of 66, I wanted to make so many new friends, I’d lose track of who I met.  So no one was going to shut me up or keep me quiet.  No one was going to stop me.  No matter what, this was my first day of High School….anyway I realize that I’m getting on a tangent here.

After we were in our Link Crew groups for a bit, we then had to do the first 3 classes of the day, and then, well our first day was done.
