Everything Has Changed (SEQUAL TO WOULD YOU BE MINE?)

Everything is changing for seventeen year old Aqua Lambert. Her mother is getting married, her step brother is Leon Reed her bully the past three years and now there's a mysterious woman hanging around her father's grave.

"That could've gone better," I mumbled sarcastically.

Adam rolled his eyes, "She's so much like her mother."

"What the hell did I miss?" Theodore asked looking between Adam and me.

"She found out everything. She's very upset." I answered him.

"No shit." Theodore shook his head walking out of the room.

"Where are you going?" Laura asked Theodore.

"I'm going after her. I'm never letting her out of my sight again." He snapped at her.

"She's fine." Laura handed Theodore a tablet, "She's heading to the park."

"Thanks for the tip." He shoved the tablet back to her about to leave the room when Adam grabbed his arm.

"You're in-" Adam started to speak but Theodore cut him off. "I am her bodyguard and I promised Alex to keep her safe no matter what and I already screwed up once and I won't let it happen again now kindly fuck off." Theodore ripped his arm away continuing his walk out of the room.

"You're tracking her?" I asked.

"I injected a tracking device in her arm while she slept and I suggest you not tell her about it," Adam warned.

I ran both of my hands through my hair, this is crazy.

I shivered sure by now that I'm going to get frostbite as I sit on a bench at the park alone with my thoughts.

"Young lady where is your jacket?"

I looked up seeing an old homeless woman pushing her cart full of stuff she collected from her travels.

"I don't have one," I mumbled cradling my legs closer to my body for warmth which clearly isn't working.

I felt something warm get placed around my shoulders, it was an old scruffy blanket the old woman had on. The blanket was big enough for me to wrap my whole body in even my frozen feet.

"What about you?" I asked her seeing she hardly wore warm clothing.

She sat down beside me, "Don't worry about me."

I didn't know what to say, I deiced on staying quite watching the snow fall to the ground.

"Is something bothering you?"  She asked.

"Yes, actually," I admitted.

"Care to share?"

"My father..left my mom when she was pregnant with me...all this time has passed and now he shows up and he claims it was to protect us but I feel like he could've done it in a different way." I wanted to tell her the truth but I know I couldn't just tell anyone.

"Hm, if he says that's why he left and you know deep down in your heart that it's the truth even though its hard to understand it now but what he done might have been his only option. It's never easy coming to a decision to leave your unborn child and wife it must have been a very dangerous situation for him to make such a choice."

I nodded taking in her words, Lilly caused him to take such extreme measures. He knew she wanted Mom to suffer; he basically jumped in front of the bullet for me. Would Lilly have come after mom while she was still carrying me if dad didn't die? What other madness would she have done?

"If I had a chance to do it all over again with my two kids then I would." The homeless woman mumbles sadly pulling me out of my thoughts.

"If I may, what happened?" I asked curiously.

"Their father was a good for nothing abusive alcoholic. I wasn't any better myself I used to be addicted to drugs. My youngest couldn't finish high school because she had to work full time to support me and her father. That's no way for a seventeen year old to live." The old woman sniffs.

I gently rubbed her back feeling sorry for her, I couldn't imagine anyone going through that.

"Honestly, I was grateful the day I found my husband murdered in our daughter's room; if it wasn't for that I would've OD a long time ago." She looked at me wiping away a few tears, "What I'm saying is parents aren't perfect. What they think is right might seem wrong to you. If your father has a good valid reason in your eyes then know it was to protect you." She smiles sadly at me, "Does that help?"

I nodded surprised at her truthfulness.

The homeless woman and I looked up as Theodore walked over to us.

"You shouldn't be out here! You're still hurt." I fussed at him.

He rolled his eyes, "You shouldn't be out here either," He looked at the homeless lady, "and you are?"

"Aqua." She replies.

"Small world." Theodore remarks.

The homeless woman looked at me, "Yes it is." She stood, "Goodbye dear." She pecks my forehead then walks over to her cart pushing it as she walks away.

Aqua is just a popular name, right?

"Come on." Theodore started walking away I got off the bench wrapping the blanket around me as I followed him.

I made a mental note to ask mom who I'm named after.

"Glad to see you're back." Dad smiles at me.

"Not like I have a choice," I mumbled flopping down on the couch beside Leon.

Theodore sat down on the recliner.

"So what's the deal? Can't tell mom? Done. Can't say shit to anyone? Done. Now take me home." I stated crossing my arms.

Dad sighed, "I thought I was doing what's right. I know your mom remarried she's happy isn't she?"

"She wouldn't have if you grew some balls!"

I wanted him to see my point, I know if one thing didn't happen other things wouldn't have happened it's like dominos. I know if dad didn't fake his death mom wouldn't have moved, she wouldn't have met Samual, Samuel would've still been married and Leon could have both of his parents. I wouldn't have met Leon, Leon wouldn't have been able to bully me so on and so forth.

But no here we are in the world where dad faked his death.

I wanted to scream out in frustration, one part of me knows he did it for me the other part wanted him to see reason that maybe there was another option.

"I'm not arguing about this with you." Dad gave me a cell phone, "Call your mom. Let her know you're safe and you're coming home tomorrow."

I dialed mom's number she answered on the first ring.

"Mom?" I crooked, the only person that's been there. She could've given me up and lived her own life but no she kept me and raised me on her own with Uncle Alexander's help.

"Aqua honey are you guys safe? What happened?" She sounds tired.

"Yes, Lilly's dead mom."

"I'm so sorry you've had to deal with that."

"Mom," I paused I could tell her dad's alive but would she even believe me? Would she even speak to him? I looked at dad he watched me carefully, probably ready for me to tell her he's alive. I looked at Leon would she divorce his dad just to be with mine?

"Yes dear, what is it?" She brought me out of my thoughts.

"I'll be home tomorrow. Theodore is getting all of us on the next flight we are in good hands."

"Good. I love you guys so much. Samual will be relieved to he's so worried about you guys. Please have Theodore keep in touch."

"Okay love you, mom."

We said our goodbyes hanging up.

I stood off the couch walking over to dad handing back the cell phone.

What I'm saying is parents aren't perfect. What they think is right might seem wrong to you. If your father has a good valid reason in your eyes then know it was to protect you

I sigh finally coming to decision stopping the war on myself.

He wiped away a tear I didn't know slipped.

"I'm sorry," I apologized, "I was angry. I wanted to prove that maybe you could've done things in a different way but I guess you did what you could with the options that were available to you at the time."

"Thank you, honey, you do have every right to be upset but I need you to know I did it for you and your mom."

I hugged him, "I know dad, I know now."

He hugged me back, "I love you."

I smiled, "I love you too dad."
