The Histories of the Nilites

In a universe first-glance that seems like ours, the beginning is nowhere the same. The myths of the beginning of this world start with Nihl, primordial darkness and chaos, and how things go from there. (OKAY, SO THESE PEOPLE DO NOT NOT NOT HAVE INCEST DO NOT BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE DNA, OKAY NO DNA, PRIMORDIAL MIST FLOWS THROUGH THEIR BODIES. THEY ARE CONDENSED PRIMORDIAL MIST. NO INCEST. PLEASE NOTE: NO INCEST. THOUGH SOME CHARACTERS ARE STATED TO HAVE DONE HANKY-PANKY, IT IS NOT INCEST, OKAY NONONONONONO INCEST.)

11. Luna/The Love of Stygian and Solis

Being a Nihla of the sky, Imbrem was bound to speak with Stygian and Solis. She became their friend, keeping their loneliness away. Eventually, she learned that they fell in love, and the other Nihlas had practically forgotten about them. Slowly, they told her the tale of before her. A part of her, the part from Amare, became extremely sympathetic for them.

Imbrem, heartbroken at their tale, cried so much that oceans and rivers were created.

The Nihlas, nearly being drowned below, came up to see what was the matter.

Imbrem explained, and many of them felt sorry, wanting to make it up to Stygian and Solis, though they mainly left it at that, and dispersed. Imbrem continued to cry.

Curare and Amare, the ones to understand love the most, sought out Somnum. Curare remembered how he had helped create Somnium, though she was unsure he would be as helpful this time.

When Curare and Amare found Somnum, they put forth many arguments as to why he should help Stygian and Solis. Somnum, even more reluctant to help than last time, asked why he should help. Because, they told him, Family is family.

Very, very reluctantly, Somnum agreed to help them. Together, they sought out Terram.

The found Terram in a large canyon one day. Somnum explained to him the situation, but Terram told them he could not, because most of his life force was depleted due to forming Terra.

Curare and Amare begged with him, until he gave in, agreeing to use the last of his life force to create another powerful being.

In the dreamscape, Somnum conjured up a powerful being of white light, a girl resembling Imbrem with a willowy dress that shimmers from gray to white, and long, flowing hair that does the same.

Terram, using the last of his power, made her a tangible being. As she manifested, he faded away to nearly nothing. The last of him to go was his silver eyes.

On the ground, curled up, was Luna, who then opened her silver eyes. The Nihlas explain to her, and she, though young and confused, was willing to help.

Luna ascended to the heavens to meet Solis, and in that moment, creating a solar eclipse, creating enough darkness for Stygian to meet him.

The couple rejoices, but Luna warns them this cannot last, because the two powerful extremes coming together, separated only by her, would cause her to die if they do not separate.

Sadly, the couple agrees for several reasons: because, first and foremost, she helped them; she was also very young, and couldn’t die without living first; and she also looked so much like their friend Imbrem, who they couldn’t bear hurting.

So Luna promised them as she left, that once a year or two, she would help them meet, because that would give her to recuperate.

Solis made her promise to always stay with Stygian, because he was the loneliest. She promised, but also said she would visit Solis sometimes, taking up the role as messenger from Imbrem.
