The Histories of the Nilites

In a universe first-glance that seems like ours, the beginning is nowhere the same. The myths of the beginning of this world start with Nihl, primordial darkness and chaos, and how things go from there. (OKAY, SO THESE PEOPLE DO NOT NOT NOT HAVE INCEST DO NOT BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE DNA, OKAY NO DNA, PRIMORDIAL MIST FLOWS THROUGH THEIR BODIES. THEY ARE CONDENSED PRIMORDIAL MIST. NO INCEST. PLEASE NOTE: NO INCEST. THOUGH SOME CHARACTERS ARE STATED TO HAVE DONE HANKY-PANKY, IT IS NOT INCEST, OKAY NONONONONONO INCEST.)

15. Imbrem’s Journey: Bestia and Beasts

One day, Imbrem descended from the heavens, and met several Nihlas on her journey. The first was Herba.

Herba was busy on her quest to fill Terra with natural beauty, but Imbrem convinced her something was missing. That Terra was vast as it was lonely, with only 15 Nihla actually on the planet, one in the dreamscape, and four regularly in the sky.

Herba agreed, even if a bit naively. Together, Herba contorted plants into different shapes, and Imbrem put water into their stems and roots, which became veins and arteries, although quite primitive.

A small, wiggly creature emerged, little legs and a tail sprouting from its body. Much to Herba’s dismay, it grew into Nihla. The Nihla, who named itself Bestia, declaring no gender, began to show Herba and Imbrem right away what she was before she became a Nihla. Bestia called it a lizard, and then created a snake. These were primitive of course, and barely survived, but survived nonetheless.

Imbrem left them to their own will, which was creating new lifeforms [which took hundreds of years to make sure they could properly take care of themselves, fight, and evolve. Evolving took some help from Vitae].
