The Last Leaf

Maya just wanted a normal relationship. And once she met Ian, she thought she would. But Ian pushed her away. He tried to keep her from loving him. But when she finds out what causes his lack for love, she tries to help him; something no girl has ever done for him. Ian's life depends on a tree. A tree of which is almost dead. And once it dies, Ian dies.

1. Problems are always solved

"How could you!" I yelled. I couldn't believe what I just heard. Heath cheated on me.

"I'm sorry...I just couldn't help myself, I was drunk!" Heath stammered back at me, tears in his eyes.

"That means nothing. I'm sorry, Heath. We're over." Heath helplessly looked at me. His puppy-dog eyes were no match for me. He had lied to me. Told me he loved me. Damn, why does this always happen to me?

Our fight was so loud, teachers were spilling into the hallway. Students were watching in awe. And nobody said a thing. Until one boy---I think his name is Ivan---Walked towards me.

"Hey, it'll be okay. He did something wrong but doesn't everybody? Just calm down." His voice was so calm, and soothing. At that point, I was beginning to calm down, and people started to their next class. The boy put his hand on my shoulder and a big 'ole wave of jealousy punched Heath in the face.  Okay, this was a little funny to see him like this. "Um...It's Ivan, right?", I asked. he chucked.

"No. It's Ian", he smiled.

He took his hand off my arm. "Oh...sorry," I said, embarrased. He did not say anything, but his eyes said it all. he was so handsome. He had blue eyes and short-ish brown hair. He was the cutest boy in the world. He smiled as if her could read my mind.

"I heard about your fight," He said, looking at the ground.

"Yup. I bet you did," I said, nodding.

"What exactly happened?"

I wanted to tell him everything; to spill my guts to him. Although I just met him, I feel as if I can tell him anything.

"He cheated on me with some drunk whore," I blurted.

"Calm it down, tiger", He giggled. I just wanted him to hug me and carres my straight, long brown hair. Something in his eyes glowed with a gold-ish color. I was absolutely intruged. He made me think of a tall, beautiful tree...

He blushed a little bit. Could he read my mind? Eh. He put his hand out to me as he asked, "Can I walk you to 7th hour?" Yes. The day is almost over. Then I realized that Ian was in my next class, and the next class after that. It's funny how I never noticed it before.
