The Last Petal...

He grew up full of prejudice. Was taught he was superior. He knew nothing of other people's feelings, nor did he care. The very idea of love and light made him sneer. But what would you expect, from a beast?

When Hermione opened her eyes, she was surprised to be in a bed. She looked around and saw she was back in her room.

The events of the previous night came back to her.

Immediately, the covers were ripped back and fresh clothes were thrown on.

Hermione took the steps two at a time and looked around the common room. It was deserted.

The portrait hole opened and Professor McGonagall came in.

"Hello, Miss Granger. Lovely morning, isn't it? I was in my study when I realized I forgot to put a password on your doors. So sorry about that. I hope Mr Malfoy hasn't caused you any trouble," she explained

"Oh, of course not, Professor," Hermione lied thinking of their argument

"Wonderful," McGonagall said waving her wand twice in the direction of each door

"All you have to do now is walk up to the door and say your desired password. It will all be set up from there. Please tell Mr Malfoy," She finished

"Thank you professor. I'll tell him," Hermione replied

McGonagall nodded her head and left the room.

Malfoy walked out of his bedroom. He looked distressed as he walked down the stairs.

"Good morning," She said brightly

He ignored her and walked straight into the tiny kitchen.

"Draco? Are you okay?" Hermione asked, worried now

"Just leave me alone, Granger," he said sighing as he got a cup of water

"What's up?" She asked frowning

"Nothing! Okay?! Just leave me alone!" Draco shouted, "why are you so annoying?!"

Hermione took a few steps backward.

"I-I thought after last night-" Hermione stuttered

"No, Granger! Last night, never happened! You are still a filthy little mudblood, and I am still better than you!" Draco interrupted

Tears welled up in her brown eyes. She felt a pang in her chest.

Refusing to cry in front of him, she walked back up the stairs of her room, muttering her new password as she went, and locked herself in her bathroom.

She rested her hand on the countertop for balance. She really thought he had changed after last night....

Draco's breathing was labored.

He hated her. Absolutely hated her. But not for the reasons everyone expected. Not for her blood...not like he should... But because she made him rethink everything he had ever known
