On their next visit to the prison in Hull Alan Butch Stoneman told Danny McMullen and Billy Royale how the five men who were responsible for their friend Albert Reynolds death were now all now dead themselves. The two men smiled as Butch told them how they had all died in agony as the poisoned mushrooms got into their systems.’

“I know it won’t bring Albert back, but I’m glad we gave those bastards some retribution.

“I have got my parole date said Butch.’

“How come the two men asked?’

“Well my solicitor appealed to the courts and they are letting me out next October providing I keep my nose clean.’

“Don’t worry lads, no one knows a thing, if they do find out it won’t come from my lips; I will watch everyone and will stay awake in my cell all night before I’m released.’

“There is talk of moving me to an open prison shortly anyway so it will be really cushy there. I can serve out the last few months of my sentence before my release.’

“That’s the best news I’ve heard all year mate.’

“You lads haven’t been up to anything have you?’

“I mean I don’t want to get out and find I’ve got to come and visit you two buggers in Durham nick.’

“No mate, they both laughed out loud. We’ve both got jobs now. There’s this factory opened called Commercial Plastics on Norham Road where we are both working. Then you get out we’ll both put in a good word for you.’ They are taking on new staff all the time.’

“You two might laugh but this time I’m going straight, no more thieving for me. I’ve seen enough of prison to last me a life time and the birch scars to prove it an aal.’

“My mother says she will disown me if I ever get in bother again after this.’

“Hey,’ guess what.’

“Danny here has got himself a bird.’

Butch playfully punched Danny on the shoulder then asked him what she was like.’

“Well she’s just turned twenty one and she works in the canteen. Her name is Sally Freeman and she lives in Sunnyside you know down by the Pineapple Pub.’

“Not Molly Freeman’s sister.’

“The same mate.’

“Her sister was a bit of a looker by all accounts if I remember rightly; she was working at Dukes and Marks up the road; is she seeing anyone?’ No she’s just finished wi the lad she was going out with.’
