4. Broken Tap

Today I miss you with the miserable persistence of a broken tap, not quite able to close. The grief comes in dribbles; skating my cheekbones and draining out into the sea. It nags me and gnaws at me but never releases. I await the flood and wonder if I can afford to be rinsed any more withered inside.
