Mettaton is hot, popular, and according to most people, flawless.

But he has a secret that might change that.

A secret that's not safe with anyone.

Or so he thinks.

2. Reading

They have to meet after school because Mettaton says he doesn't want to be seen with Papyrus.

How nice of him.

They have to meet at Papyrus' house because Mettaton's parents don't want Papyrus at their house.

How nice of them.

Mettaton knocks on Papyrus' door. Papyrus doesn't answer, his father does instead. Papyrus looks more like his father than his mother. I mean, seriously, he looks like his father just younger and slightly shorter.

Papyrus can't hear what Mettaton says, he just hopes he not being rude. His father is kind, too kind, like Papyrus.

Mettaton walks into Papyrus' living room like it's his own.

Papyrus can tell by the look on his face when he sits next to him that he's not happy to be there. Papyrus understands. Mettaton's house must be huge. He almost feels sorry. He feels like he should've cleaned more or something. It's not that he cares about Mettaton, he cares what he think of him.

"So," Mettaton says like he doesn't know where to start.

Papyrus raises an eyebrow. "You know what we're doing, right?"

He looks down.

"Did you even read the book?"

He shakes his head.

"What? Why?"

"I tried," he says, he sounds genuinely upset, "But it's hard."

"How?" Papyrus knows he should be more understanding. Just because he's smart doesn't mean everyone else is. He just doesn't want to understand Mettaton. He wants to get the project done as quickly as possible.

Mettaton glares at him. "Obviously you wouldn't understand! The teachers love you. They give you As no matter what you do."

"If the teachers loved me I wouldn't be paired with you."

Someone is laughing. It's Sans, Papyrus' older brother. He's sitting at the top of the stairs, just laughing.

Mettaton glares at him, crossing his arms.

Sans notices this and shrugs. "He's right."

"Ugh!" Mettaton exclaims, "We haven't gotten anything done!"

"Maybe we would if you had actually read the book!"

"It's not that simple! I can't read the book!"

Papyrus lowers his voice. "You can read, can't you?"

Mettaton rolls his eyes. "Of course I can read. I'm not stupid."

"I don't think you're stupid. I just wanted to know if you can read."

"Well, you didn't have to be rude about it."

"You're the one being rude about it."

He crosses his arms and rolls his eyes, again.

"We still don't have anything done."

"Maybe I can help you read it?"

He shakes his head.

"We don't have time for that."

"Maybe I can read it to you?"

Mettaton looks down. He looks like he's blushing but Papyrus can't tell

"We don't have time for that, either."

"I finished the whole thing in an hour. If you want to get this done we'll have to do that."

"We can't that's too," he pauses, "Weird."

Papyrus glares at him.

"I don't like you, you know."

"I mean, I don't like you. I just want to get this stupid project done and then never talk to you again."

"Fine. Read the book. Just get it over with."

Papyrus can't stand how homophobic Mettaton is. He really can't stand Papyrus reading him a short book?

What the hell is wrong with him?
