20. The Storm

Wind blows wildly. Two boys run into a store. A tree branch falls after them as the run inside. The younger of the two screams. A tunnel of air plummets across the prairie, approaching the town by the second. The store rattles and items fall off of the shelves. 

 

"This must be a joke." 

"It's April 1st. This isn't a day for jokes."

 

The boys whispered between each other. The older of the two boys is shaking when suddenly there is a splintering crack. The shelf with delicate glass and porcelain falls on him, and he shrieks in pain as he falls to the floor surrounded in glass and shreds of porcelain.  

 

"No!" The younger of the brother's squeals as he turns around at the sound of the noise and runs over to his brother.
