Stable boy

Sylva is alone in the world. She lives in a manor with her mom but still her mom wants her to live on high society. She can't, not with having to marry Hash in a year or with her love of horses. Then she meets Jane. A girl hiding in her stables, together they start on a journey to freedom.

30. 30

Later that day I was in the seamstress's work room.

We were sitting and talking about Shara and all the fun things she had done.  Were, till Hash came in.

“Your mom told me I would find you here,” he said.

“What do you want?” I asked.

“Lay down,” he ordered.

“No way!” I snapped.

He took a step forward.  I froze.

The seamstress took a step forward to Hash.

“Out of my way,” commanded Hash.

She stood in front of me defying him.

“No,” she said simply.

Hash made a fist and hit her.  The blow landed on the top of her head.  I did not watch as she crippled to the ground, I got out at full sprint.

“Oh,” I huffed as the breath left me.  I had ran straight into my mother.

“What is it?” she asked.

“Hash,” I answered.

“Come on,” said mom rushing off.

I followed, needing to follow.  We ran into a kitson hand on the way to wherever mom was going, mom gave him orders and we sat tight in the kitson.

Everyone seemed to have a nervous energy about them.  I could not be a part of the feeling.  My heart was still on Shara and the seamstress, which I somehow knew was dead.  It had a raw ach in me.  It felt like my insides had been hollowed out.

When it was announced that Hash was locked off the property the others cheered.  My mom gushed apologies about trying to force me to marry him.  I sat through them and nodded my head, without hearing it.  Then I dragged myself in bed and slept.
