Stable boy

Sylva is alone in the world. She lives in a manor with her mom but still her mom wants her to live on high society. She can't, not with having to marry Hash in a year or with her love of horses. Then she meets Jane. A girl hiding in her stables, together they start on a journey to freedom.

Once we got to the dance part I knew exactly how to please my mother.  “Hash, could we dance?” I asked.

“Let’s,” he replied with a sneer of satisfaction.

I took his hand and let myself be led across the dance floor.  I was cringing inwardly at his hot sweaty hands.  His back was broad and hard to keep my hand on, and even though I was tall I still had trouble keeping my arm up so high, on this boy.

Once the dance ended I excused myself to get tea.

“Did you hear about the happening in Boston?” asked a male voice from behind me.

I turned and replied, “no”.

“The colonists dumped 92,000 pounds of tea into the sea,” he said with disgust.

“How?” I asked.

“They disguised themselves as indians, and apparently they looked like amateurs,” he remarked.

“Interesting,” I said, envisioning a new book.

“Mam would you like to dance?” he asked me.

I held my hand out for him.  Sure he was way older then me but as a lady I had to dance with everyone, thanks mom.  Instead of dancing though I wanted to write.
