The World Was Wide Enough

Hamilton fanfiction
This story is similar to how things really went, but a few of the couples are different. The story is also told from many people's perspectives.

Yellow for death because of war and duels. Also the Reynolds Pamphlet was a thing...

Hamilton's POV

Today had been agreat day. I was able to spend time with my son today. I really loved spending time with him. Angelica and Burr were coming over for dinner tonight since we haven't seen each other since before the war and they also want to meet Philip.

I put my son in his room so he could take a nap. Then I went back to the table in the dining room to where Eliza was sitting. I just came by to tell her that I had a lot of work to do so I'd be in my office basically all afternoon if she needed me.

"Alexander? There's a letter for you," she said giving me an envelope as I turned to go to my office. I saw the return address said Laurens on it.

"It's from John Laurens. I'll read it later."

"No. It's from his father." Once she said that I got a little worried.

"His father? Will you read it?" She then opened the letter and read it.

"On Tuesday the 27th, my son was killed in a gunfight against British troops retreating from South Carolina. The war was already over. As you know, John dreamed of emancipating and recruiting 3,000 men for the first all-black military regiment. His dream of freeedom for these men dies with him."

He was dead. I was so upset. Even though I loved Eliza so dearly, I loved John too. I could not bear the fact that he was actually dead. I had longed for a hug from him, but now I will never be able too. I would miss him for the rest of my life, until we met again.
