The World Was Wide Enough

Hamilton fanfiction
This story is similar to how things really went, but a few of the couples are different. The story is also told from many people's perspectives.

Yellow for death because of war and duels. Also the Reynolds Pamphlet was a thing...

Angelica's POV

Tonight was the Winter's Ball. It was meant as like a break for soldiers. It was also a good place to meet someone if you know what I mean.

My sisters and I were forced to go by our aunt, whom which we were staying with at the time. I was really dreading it, going to balls weren't my thing. However, I always made it seem that way, or so according to my sister Eliza. She's always been jealous of me. Anyways, at balls guys always wanted to dance with me, which got annoying after a while.

My sisters and I walk into the ballroom. Right away, a guy in the corner of the room distracts me.His friend that he was talking to points to me and my sisters as we walked in. We're the Schuyler sisters so everyone knows us and are super excited to see us when we walk in a room. Especially single guys. This guy turns around to look at the three of us standing there taking in all of the sights and sounds of the room. Our eyes meet and I feel a little warmth inside.

"Would you care to dance Ms. Schuyler?"

Aaron Burr suddenly popped into my view. I didn't like him much, but I couldn't let this poor little guy suffer alone. I decided to be a good person even though I really didn't want to be.

"Sure Mr. Burr."

The dance started. I made sure that I was in a position to keep looking at this guy. I really wondered who he was. After a little bit of the song passed by, I snapped back to reality. I realized I should compliment Burr on something. As my aunt always said, even if you don't like the guy you're dancing with much, you still have to be nice to him.

"You're a very good dancer," I lied. There was nothing to compliment him on. His face was ugly, his outfit looked bad, and his dancing was mediocre. It was the smallest lie out of the choices I had.

"Thank you," He said.

We continued dancing and I continued looking at this guy. I really wanted to look at this guy closer up. The dance floor was still a bit of a way away from the corner that this guy and his friends were standing in.

"So, Angelica, there's this ball for soldiers getting promoted. Kind of a party for us. I'm getting promoted, therefore I'm going to this ball. Would you like to come with me?"

Oh no. I think I was giving him the idea that he had a shot with me, I had to shut this down quickly and get out of there as fast as I could without being too hurtful.

"No thanks. I'm not into going to balls much. I was forced to go to this one so I could hopefully meet a guy."

"Well you've met me."

I wanted to scream after he said this. Why was he going there?! I thought that my first statement was clear enough. Apparently he was the kind of guy that you had to spell it out for.

"I'm sorry Burr but I just don't think of you that way."

I ended our dance and walked off the dance floor. I didn't look back at him becuase I knew that he was hurt. I went to the table that my sisters were at.

"How'd it go," Peggy asked me.

"Not too good," I said back. Then I noticed that Eliza was staring at a guy in the corner.

"Eliza," I snapped my fingers in her face too.

"What," she said loudly as she sat straight up. She looked like I interrupted her daydream, which I did.

"What are you looking at?"

"Do you see that guy over there with the dreamy eyes? He's just perfect. I really love him. Like I have that crazy feeling inside me and I know that he's it."

That was my guy! My sister was truly, deeply, madly in love with the guy that I wanted.I didn't know what was going to happen at the end of this. All I knew was that I was going to go for it.

I got up from the table and took a step in that guy's direction.

"Where are you going," Eliza asked me.

"You'll see"
