The World Was Wide Enough

Hamilton fanfiction

This story is similar to how things really went, but a few of the couples are different. The story is also told from many people's perspectives.

Yellow for death because of war and duels. Also the Reynolds Pamphlet was a thing...

Hamilton's POV

"So this is America," I muttered to myself as I stepped off the boat. Everything looked so different here in New York compared to the small island I lived on in the Caribbean. It truly was a beautiful sight.

I spent little time exploring as I was on a mission, to get myself into a college. Getting an education was important to me. Sure I already was smart, but I needed a formal education rather than the self-taught knowledege I had.

I was also excited to be in America because of the war. Yes, I really wanted to fight in that war. I wanted to help start this country and make it a great one. That was my goal, graduate college, fight in the war, and then I could help govern this country.

I got into King's college here in New York. I had realized that if I was stuck here for 4 years, I wouldn't have a chance to fight in this war. I had a decision to make. Get an education, which is what I was sent here for, or go fight in the war and make sure that the world's gonna know my name.

In the time it took me to make a decision, I heard about a guy who had graduated from here in 2 years. I was amazed! I wanted to graduate here in 2 years, then I'd get the best of both worlds! I decided I was going to work as hard as I can to graduate in 2 years. But how did this guy do it? That I have no clue. Who even is this guy? I never heard his name. I'm sure I'll figure it out.

The next day as I was headed to class, I overheard a couple of guys talking about this cool guy who graduated in 2 years. I decided I was going to talk to them.

"Excuse me, but I couldn't help but overhear you were talking about a person that graduated from here in 2 years. Do you happen to know his name?"

The one who looked like less of a snobby rich guy answered me, "Yes, as a matter of fact I do know his name! His name is Aaron Burr."

"Thank you. Do you happen to know if he's still in this city or is he elsewhere now?"

"He's still in New York."

"Why thank you!"

Aaron Burr was his name. Oh you bet that I was going to find him in this city, some way, some how.
