Yellow for death because of war and duels. Also the Reynolds Pamphlet was a thing...

Burr's POV

There was a ball tonight for the soldiers. The Winter's Ball. There were rumors going around that the Schuyler sisters would be there. I really hoped they would. I was in love with the oldest, Angelica. Sure I would maybe tease her sometimes, but it was out of love. I decided that if she was there tonight I was going to talk to her.

I was already there when the Schuyler sisters showed up. I was amazed that they were actually there. I would give Angelica a few moments before I would go talk to her. She immediately headed for the dance floor. That'd be an easy way to talk to her, just ask her to dance.

I let a song pass before I asked her.

"Would you care to dance Ms. Schuyler?"

"Sure Mr.Burr"

The music began and I led her in a dance.

"You're a very good dancer," she said to me.

"Thank you."

I was getting nervous. I was trying to build up the confidence to ask her out. Where would I even take her on a date? That was the real question here. Oh yes, there was another ball that was for soldiers getting promoted. I was going to get promoted that night. Why not ask her to accompany me to that ball?

"So, Angelica, there's this ball for soldiers getting promoted. Kind of a party for us. I'm getting promoted, therefore I'm going to this ball. Would you like to come with me?"

"No thanks. I'm not into going to balls much. I was forced to go to this one so I could hopefull meet a guy."

"Well you've met me."

"I'm sorry Burr but I just don't think of you that way."

She walked away in the middle of the dance. There I was, standing in the middle of the dance floor, alone. I felt humiliated. I casually walked off the floor wiht my head down. Rejection was the saddest feeling to ever feel.
