The Meadow

A poem describing the beauty of The Meadow throughout the seasons

1. The Meadow

The long grass waves in the wind

Touching the cow's rough hides

A gentle moo escapes their lips

As birds swoop softly overhead

The trees they creak and crack

As many years pass by

They stand and over-look this meadow

Standing guard until their end

Their branches bare in Winter

Leaves orangey-gold in autumn

Throughout the seasons they still watch

Many animals come and go

This, the most magnificent meadow

Is home to plants and beasts

And how I hope when I am dead

I will be re-born into this meadow

As either tree, grass or bird

I do not care which one

I know I belong to this meadow

I wish not to be anywhere else
