“Do you mind if I take off my jacket Dennis, it’s a bit on the hot side today?’

“By all means Sid?’

“Sid took off his hat and coat then sat it down on the table next to his sun glasses.

He unbuttoned his shirt and loosened his tie.’

“Christ that’s better, I was passing out.’

Dennis laughed out loud and said it hotter here than in Majorca. Then the conversation turned serious. “I have you heard what is going on in North Shields?’

“No what’s happened?’

“There’s a bit of a turf war going on with Paddy Devlin and Paddy Leonard I believe.’

“Let them get on with it Dennis I don’t care if they kill each other.’

They are raking in plenty of money from their little drug business.’

“It’s just nickels and dimes Dennis.’

“Really, you’d be surprised at how much business there is going on?’

“Now I know that you are strictly a property developer Sid but the potential market out there is huge.’ “If you had a mind you could be running the show there as the main man.’

“You wouldn’t have to actually distribute the stuff just sell it to them in bulk. They pay you and then they would weigh it, cut it, and then sell it.’

The customs officers are very lax at the moment so bringing it in has never been easier.

“How much we talking about here?’

“About three hundred quid a pound.’

“Ten pounds could net you over £3.000.

“As much as that?’

Easy to stick in a suitcase and take home; you are a regular business man who travels abroad quite a lot so the customs men wouldn’t pull you.’

“If you were brave enough to carry two suitcases through customs you would be looking at half a million in just one trip.’

“Wow, now I see the potential.’

“Sid’s mind was working overtime now.’ he knew the very person he could use to carry his cases through customs for him as well.’

“Who would see to the delivery at this end said Sid?

“I would replied Dennis.’ Of course you would pay me a percentage.’

“How much would your cut be?’

“Ten per cent.’

“A hundred grand for just bringing two cases to my hotel; come on Dennis I’m no fool.’

“I have to get the stuff from my end plus I have to pay them for it.’

“It’s still a good wedge though Dennis and its going to be me who will be taking all the risks not you.’

“It was just a thought Sid, like I said its easy money for you.’ “Think it over and let me know.’

“What about the apartments I was going to look at?’

“Put it this way Sid; just one trip with the packages and you could invest one hell of a lot in property over here and in mainland Spain.’ “You would be a multi millionaire in no time.’

“Alright you’ve convinced me; “I will need you to help me out though; where can I buy some cut price jewellery?’

“How much do you want to spend?’

“I don’t know; maybe £500.’
