“Help yourself; there are towels in the cupboard.’

“Thank you she said and disappeared into the bathroom.’

Jim got up he put on a clean pair of underwear and his trousers.

He had a clean tee shirt in his drawer along with a pair of black socks and he slipped the shirt over his head then pulled the bottom down. He sat on the bed to put his socks on then slipped on a pair of sued shoes. He combed his hair then went to see what he could cook Helen for her dinner. He started to scrub a few new potatoes when Helen returned. She kissed the back of his neck; he turned and kissed her softly.

“How about some boiled ham, new potatoes, and a salad.’

“Can I help?’

“Yes,’ you can prepare the salad if you like; there’s a colander in that cupboard over there.’

Jim put the potatoes on then added more coffee to the percolator and some water then switched it on.

Twenty minutes later they were sitting down to lunch and they again were staring into each others eyes with desire.

Driving home in his new car Albert Nicholson felt like a millionaire. Moira was in the back garden as he stepped out of the car wearing the new suit. The curtains twitched in the street as Albert opened the gate and then saw his wife.

He carried on walking until Moira saw him then dropped the peg bag she was holding and came running towards him.’

“What’s happened she asked him; where did you get the new suit from and… whose car is that?’

“It’s mine, I have a new job.’

“Where and when did this happen?’

“I’m now working as a rent collector; my wage is double what I was getting as a taxi driver. Although there will be some driving to do as I have to drive the boss around.’

So how did you get the car and the suits?’

Well the guy I work for wants me to look smart in front of his perspective clients so he gave me money to buy clothes and he sorted me with this car as well as he said mine was clapped out.’

“Is this man rich or summick?’

“He’s rolling in it; you want to see the house that he lives in Moira; it’s out of this world I’m telling you.’

“So this guy is a millionaire then?’

“Without a doubt, he buys and sells properties all over the world. I just took him to the airport he’s gone to Gran Canaria for a week and he’s just come back from Majorca.’

“I’ve got to go pick him up in a week.’

“How’s he going to pay you if he’s sunning himself in Gran Canaria?’

“With this said Albert as he took out his new wallet and showed her the cash.’

“Is that all yours?’

“Yep, all mine.’

“Bloody hell Albert with money like that we can get out of this shithole and move somewhere half decent.’
