Over the next six months the two young men were buying twenty grand’s worth of weed from Carlos and selling it on to make over sixty grand in a week. It seemed like the whole of Tenerife was getting high on Cannabis. They had that much money they didn’t know what to do with it. In order not to create suspicion they opened bank accounts with different branches all over the island. “Why don’t I go to Grand Canaria said Steven one evening after a few whiskeys.’ “We could get the gear sent over there just the same by Carlos. “ You could run things from this end and I could do it from over there. “It makes sense don’t you think.’

“I don’t know Steve we don’t know nothing about Gran Canaria.

“We didn’t know anything about Tenerife either but look at us now.’

“We have to think big,’ if we can corner the market in Gran Canaria we could be millionaires in a year. “ We needn’t go back home we could just live out here for the rest of our lives.’

“We have enough to do that now Steve.’

“You said it yourself that this was the easiest money that you ever made in your life.’

“We are young Allan and there’s a stack of money to be made out there. We’ve just got to go and take it.’

“Alright; we will fly over next week and spend a few days there and get a feel for the place.’

They now had runners working for them. Runners were young hippies wishing to stay for more than just a few weeks. They bummed their way from country to country. Allan paid them what he called pocket money and put them up in cheap hotels. The runners took the weed and delivered it and then brought the money back to Allan. This worked fine for a while until some 19 year old cockney wide boy called Peter “The Pit-bull “ Taylor  tried to muscle in. Allan thought by using Taylor to collect the money they wouldn’t have any trouble as he was a big lad and could handle himself.

The ex prize fighter was a “wanna be” gangster who said he’d worked with Charley Kray and “Mad Frankie Frazer.’ He was a big bull necked blonde haired kid, hence his nickname.’ Allan took him around in his new car that he’d bought after the two lads learned how to drive. He showed him what had to be done but not who the supplier was. That was left to them to do. Carlo was particular who he did business with these days as the police were becoming more vigilant.

It was three months later when Taylor didn’t return with the money for those weeks takings.

Taylor had done a runner to Gran Canaria with the money to the tune of £20.000. Allan rang Carlo and told him what he had done. Carlos said just to leave it to him and he would sort it out but he said it would cost them.’ Okay said Allan Just get our £20,000 back.’

Three days later a package arrived and the two lads opened it and inside were the fingers of Peter Taylor. They knew they were his because on both thumbs he had the ace of spades tattooed on them. They had been snipped off just before the knuckle.

“It shocked them to the core and it was a stark reminder of what Carlo Lopez was capable of.’

The word soon went out about anyone who crossed paths with Alan Forster and Stephen Patterson would be severely dealt with.’

Soon after the Taylor incident, Allan hired heavies to look after them whilst they collected the cash from the hotels.
