Daddy's Good Girl

"Have you been a good girl?"

"Yes, Daddy."

5. Grown Men & Banana Republic

We walked into the mall.

Everyone was hustling and bustling and minding their own business. Girls walking with arms full of bags; guys doing the same.

I grabbed Donovan's hand and led him toward Banana Republic. I felt like that would be cheap but pricy enough for him.

"C'mon. Let's go," I told him.

He gladly held my hand, giving it a light squeeze which made me glance at him and smile.

"Let's see," I began once we made our way inside the store.

I pulled him over to the pants section and found jeans. I began browsing through them before looked back at Donovan. He was gazing at me with crossed arms and a small smile on his lips. I smiled back.

"Do you know your size?" I asked.

His brows furrowed for a moment. "No, I don't think I do," he said. "I don't do my own shopping."

I waved a hand and walked over to him. "Oh, it's fine. I'll just check for you."

I went to go behind him but he stopped me.

"No, you are not about to check my pants. I'm a grown man, Amelia. I can do that myself," he said forcefully.

I froze and stared up at his seemingly six foot frame that loomed over me.

"I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to--" I'd began.

He sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. I crossed my arms and looked away from him.

"No, I'm sorry," he started, "I didn't mean to snap at you."

I continued to look the other way, and he sighed again. He stepped closer to me and rubbed my arms.

"Amelia? Ameeeeelia. Look at me, please," he said softly.

I slowly turned my gaze back on him and looked him in his gorgeous green eyes. I wasn't angry, or upset for that matter. I understand where he was coming from. I just... I didn't know how to access the situation.

But his eyes looked apologetic and warm, and his hands felt nice on my arms.

"I'm sorry," he said. "I am. I didn't mean to speak to you like that, and I shouldn't have."

"No, I understand, honestly. Just, uhm, go in a dressing room and check yourself," I said.

I could see a slight confusion in his eyes, but he nodded anyway and went.

I sighed once the door closed and went back to the jeans.

"I wear a size 34," he said as he walked out from the dressing room.

"Mkay, great," I said.

I felt his arms wrap around my waist tightly, and I paused. My back was firmly pressed again his chest and could feel the beating of his heart. He bent down and kissed the top of my hair.

I shivered because it felt so new. Josh... he used to hold me like that, all tight and warm, and I would feel so safe.

"Are those what you picked out?" he said quietly, asking about the couple of pairs I'd chosen.

I nodded numbly.

"Want me to try them on?"

"Please," I said softly.

He took them from my hands and went back into the dressing room.

I kept look and saw a pair of jeans I thought would look really nice in him. They were a darkly washed denim. He didn't seem like the man to wear skinny jeans, so I made sure to steer clear of those.

I found a chair close to the dressing area, where I sat and waited.

He suddenly walked out, and sweet Jesus he looked good. Either he made everything looked good, or I had a really good taste in clothes.

I let out a low whistle.

"So," he said with his arms spread, "do they look alright?"

I stood, carrying the newer jeans with me, and walked around him. I got a glimpse of how these jeans hugged his butt. Donovan had a nice ass. I was so tempted to grab it, but he was already looking at me weird.

I cleared my throat. "Uhm, yeah. They look great," I said.

He pulled me toward him, and I laughed.

"Not as great as you," he said.

I scoffed. "God, you're so cheesy. Thank God, I'm not lactose intolerant."

He laughed and kissed my cheek. I wiggled my way out of his arms and shoved the newer jeans I had in his hands.

"Go try these on," I said with a laugh.

"Fine," he said with a smile and went back to the dressing room.

I plopped back down in the chair and sighed in content.

I had a funny feeling in my stomach, and I didn't know what it was. Donovan was so sweet and masculine and warm and, good God, he was sexy. Maybe it was the suits, maybe it was just him, either way I liked it. I liked it a lot.

"What about these?"

I know this maybe be boring and/or short, but the next chapter is much more promising. :)
