1. Crimson Rose

 

Soft as velvet, petals blush deep crimson

And leaves of green guard head and stem alike

Drops of silver dew hand like pearly tears

And fragile fingers spiteful thorns do spike

 

Despite the thrall of winter’s icy clutch

Beauty waves not amidst affliction

And as spring stirs the dormant pride within

Renewal of red enhances the depiction.
