Crimson Rose

A poem that speaks about the strength and resilience of a simple garden rose.

1. Crimson Rose

Soft as velvet, petals blush deep crimson

And leaves of green guard head and stem alike

Drops of silver dew hang like pearly tears

And fragile fingers spiteful thorns do spike

Despite the thrall of winter’s icy clutch

Beauty wavers not amidst affliction

And as spring stirs the dormant pride within

Renewal of red enhances the depiction.
