12. ~Chapter 12~

Sam and I have been walking around the area for what felt like hours when in reality it was only a few minutes. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if some Silent Hill music started randomly playing right now. Anyways this place is a lot bigger than I thought it was. It's also super empty. I actually thought this place would be heavily guarded or something along those lines. Oh and another thing, I'm really lost here. Honestly, I'm just following Sam. He seems like he knows what he's doing. Eventually, we reached somewhere interesting? There was a huge metal door in front of us. I teleported to the other side and saw nothing that caught my eye. There was a switch next to the door so I pulled it. That caused the door to open. Once the door open I saw Sam freaking out on the other side. He saw and squeezed me in a death grip. Ok, um....ok? I very awkwardly patted his back because never before had I been in a situation like this. He let go of me after a few seconds and mumbled a sorry. We continued our search for the victims. There was only one path which was forward. The deeper on the path we went the more organic? the walls seemed to get. Finally, we reached the end of the wall and I was shocked. The people were in these glass containers unconscious. There was a lot more people here than I thought there would be. I'd say there were about thirty people total. Oh, and did I mention that there's some slimy stuff starting to wrap around them. I wasn't exactly sure how to get the people out, but I scanned the room to see if anything would help. I couldn't search the whole area since a voice could be heard. I ducked behind a stack of created while Sam was behind some barrels. I peeked from the corner to see where the voice was coming from. There was a tall lady with the short red hair, and she was wearing a black suit and tie. If I didn't see the phone in her hand I would've probably thought she was crazy. "No, he's escaped. I'm not sure how, though... The rest are all here... Yes, sir... I'm on my way." The redhead placed the phone in her pocket while looking around the area. "I know you're here somewhere. You can't hide for long." With that, she went up to a control panel that was under a cover and pushed a button. Then she fixed her tie and smiled. Her shoes tapped as she left. After she completely left the area I got out from the hiding spot. "We should probably go now. She's going to bring in the guards and things might not end well." Sam said as he got up from behind the barrels. I nodded in agreement. First of all, I'm not prepared for a battle yet. Then we're going to need some backup to rescue all those people. There's only one problem in all of this. I have no idea where the exit is. The sirens started going off. That's when we both made a quick dash to the metal doors. Which did I mention started closing? Luckily we made it in time to pass under it. Even if it did close I could've just teleported us out of there. Speaking of which you all are probably wondering why can't I just teleport out of here. Well, I tried that already, but for some reason that didn't work. When the two of us passed by the doors, lots of footsteps could be heard. Great, they've come earlier than I thought they would. I pushed Sam to the left and we made a mad dash that way. I tried to go the same pace as him, but I would sometimes get ahead because of my speed. Sure enough, the footsteps came back. They are either extremely fast or there's a lot of them. Either way, they're both bad. Oh, and of course we eventually reached a dead end. Things just keep getting better and better, don't they? Our only option is just to wait for them to arrive. Which they did right after I said that. Some of the guards had guns while the others had shields or swords. I looked at Sam and he looked at me. Well, I guess I can try to distract them by using my awkward social skills. "So.... How's your day?" I chuckled nervously. I could tell that Sam was mentally face palming. The guards were affected by my terrible social skills. Some of them lowered their weapons and had a very confused face. I took that opportunity to attack some of them Gotta love super speed am I right? I couldn't have gotten all of them because someone tripped me. I was surrounded and boy did I regret my decision. Luckily my alien companion had shot some lighting bolts at a few of the guards. Of course, more of them appeared out of nowhere. So the two of us were battling a bunch of guards that are fully armed and loaded. Somehow we managed to defeat them all. I chuckled and place a hand on my hip. "That was fun." Sam looked up at me with an 'are you crazy?' face. "Well, now we have to find a way to leave this place." The two of us made our way around the unconscious guards and started to leave until there was a loud bang. Suddenly I felt immense pain on my abdomen. I placed my hand on that area and felt something thick and liquidy. I looked down and saw red all over that area. I looked up and felt myself falling so I instinctively grabbed the closest thing next to me and brought him down with me. The next thing I saw was a bright blinding light.
