19. chapter 14

Jameson's POV

"Hey Jameson, why is your face on a sneaker?"

Well shit. I shot up from my seat to meet her amused eyes. I searched for any signs of betrayal or anger, like the many before her showed. But none of which were found, maybe a bit of confusion  but her giant goofy grin covered any other thoughts.

Why wouldn't she be angry or at least trying to flirt with me. She definitely wasn't trying to do that, that she didn't bother to try to cover up the giant orange smoothie stain on her shirt, proved she honestly didn't care. Then going to tie her shoe like it was the most important thing in the world.

This is truly odd. All the other girls would instantly be like "You know I'm actually pretty single Jameson" After they found out I was the prince. Or they would instantly try to throw themselves upon me. But tying her shoe instead of trying to make royal advances was a first. Lainey was a first.

"I didn't know they started putting business CEO'S  on little girls sneakers" she exclaimed throwing her hands around wildly "and look on men's slippers too" she laughed holding up a gray slipper with me flexing printed onto it. Who would buy that

My jaw still hung open in suprise, that didn't stop her from skipping a beat. "You know I think I might get this pair" she confirmed holding up a sneaker that had my face on the one side wearing a crown and the other had my family Crest on it.

"No, you don't want that pair" I protested trying to change her mind.

Her wild grin only grew " Your right I don't want this pair"

"Really you dont" I asked surprised. Never once since I met Lainey has she changed her mind, maybe I didn't know her as well as I thought I did.

"I need this pair, I always wanted to wear sneakers to the office now you can't tell me not to."  She declared "Now you can't say my sneakers are to casual for workwear, unless you consider your face to casual for work"

I huffed in frustration,  "Only you would think of that  Lainey Kingston"

....... ..... ......

"You know these shoes are actually quite comfortable" she announced flinging her feet back and forth starring at the glitter as it caught the light.

I groaned in embarrassment, ever since we left the store she has refused to take them off. According to her it's for safely precautions, the flashing lights on the soles makes it harder for me to misplace her. Sadly little does she know its pretty hard to lose a bouncy blonde hair of curls into the crowd, even when you cant see her directly you could follow the trail of disoriented people told off by her.

"So what do you want to eat" I asked scanning over the cheap menu. She got to pick the vendor, but I got to pay... lucky me

"Erm how about the chocolate cake" she finally answered folding up her menu.

I raised my eyebrows at this " Well that's a nutritional choice for lunch" I pointed out sarcastically

"Yes I know, much more healthy than the salad" she replied with a slight grin. "And this place has the best cake on the block"

"This is the only restaurant on the block" I squinted at her

"Hi my names Mandy what could I start you two off with" the waitress asked coming over to me nervously. But then again everyone in the dinner seemed to be watching us carefully, I guess not everyone in New York is oblivious.

I closed my menu stacking on top of the other getting ready to say my order.

But Lainey cut me off "We would like 5 hamburgers, a tray of French fries, some iced tea, Ohh maybe a lobster and" I placed my hand over her mouth stopping my check from growing any more.

"Two chocolate cakes, and that's all" I commanded shoeing her away
