Dark Devotion

*Not a fanfic*
*Also on Wattpad*
*Andy Biersack is on the cover because he's casted as James Black.*
This is a dark story of obsession and murder. (& a lot of drama)
Rebecca has been married for four years, and her marriage is at it's worse. She fears her marriage will soon fall to ruin, she's stuck between bitterness and depression. Then a tall, blue-eyed, mysterious stranger moves into her neighborhood, his darkness captures her immediately.
From the very first second James laid eyes upon Rebecca, he knew he had to have her. She's stuck in an unhappy place, and he's just the person to set her free.
But in the end, what will James have done to achieve his beloved Rebecca? Does she really know James the way she thinks she does? Or is he something she never expected? Will this not so innocent affair end with deadly consequences?
Getting James into her bed wasn't hard, it's getting rid of him that's the hard part.

1. Chapter One

I think we all lose our mind sometimes, as I did when I met him. I don't know what else to call my attraction to him, but madness.

The thing is I thought I really loved my husband, then he stepped into my life. He was tall and cocky, with beautiful eyes, I must admit I had never been swept off my feet by just a mere glance before, but that was the case with him. He was unlike anybody else, something about him just pulled me to him.

If only I had known of the disaster that was to befall me for my choices, I would have run from that beautiful darkness before it was too late.

I glared at John, my husband, as I pass him. I bit my tongue as not to lash into him while at our friend's party. I won't drag anyone into our problems, it's between me and him. For several months fighting is all that's been between us. We barely even talk except to keep up appearances in front of our friends and neighbors.

It's been nearly a year since we started fighting. Although we always blame one another, I feel as though both and neither of us are to blame all at once. It's like we've drifted apart to different shores, maybe there was never real love between us at all.

Amy chat's excitedly about her new wardrobe, such a dull conversation that I find myself scanning the rest of the party with my eyes. Before long I see someone across the street I had never seen before, obviously either a visitor or a new addition to our little community,  for me not to have noticed someone like him before.

My eyes stick to him like glue, he's so very tall, towering height really. He stood at a good six four or better, with a nice yet slender build. Pleasing to my eyes for a change.

When he turns I'm struck by the bluest eyes I've ever seen. Thick black hair tops his head, below lie dark eyebrows. His cheekbones are sharp, as is his jawbone. His smile is radiant, on the left side of his bottom lip is pierced, a silver loop rests gently over the corner of his mouth. He also has a piercing in his nose, the right side, also a silver loop. And his left ear has a cross dangling from where the bottom is pierced.

He looks in my direction and I can't manage to pull my gaze away from him.

I turn to Amy and excuse myself, I slowly make my way over to the tall stranger. He smiles as I draw closer, and I smile back.

"Hi, I'm Rebecca Phillips. You must be new here."

He holds out his hand, "Pleasure to meet you, Rebecca. My name is James Black.

He points to the house, "Yeah, I just moved in yesterday actually."

I was away from the house yesterday afternoon, this would explain why I hadn't seen or heard him moving in.

"Well, it was a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Black."

"Call me James, we're friends aren't we?"

I smile, it seemed peculiar for him to call us friends already, but I nodded in agreement and repeated my sentence, this time ending it with James, instead of Mr. Black.

"Perhaps we'll talk again soon."

I blush, although I'm not sure why. Maybe it was the way his eyes rested upon me, "Perhaps."

I turned and walked away from him back towards the party. I secretly wished for the chance to talk to him again, maybe an actual conversation next time we meet. I hope that will be soon, we are bound to run into each other sooner or later being neighbors in this postage stamp size town.
