I'll Be Here |Joshler|

|Twenty One Pilots Faniction| Tyler Joseph wants to die. Then he meets Josh Dun. Maybe, because of him, he might think twice.

8. Questions

*Josh's POV*

"Yes, Josh?"

I almost felt bad, the lesson was being disrupted multiple times today.

"Can I go to the bathroom?"

My teacher nodded and I slipped out into the hallway, grabbing a pass from the table beside the door. I didn't really have to go to the bathroom, I was actually going to check on Tyler.

I'm not sure why he was staring at me in class, but I don't think it was because of my hair. What was so interesting about me? Does he-oh god, no, no Josh, don't think like that. Jumping to those kinds of conclusions is bad.

A whimper pulled me out of my thoughts and I looked around with wide eyes.

There was a crashing sound and I began to run toward it.

I skidded to a stop when I came around the corner, coming face to face with none other than Felix, who was smiling wickedly.

"Out of my way!" He grunted, shoving me aside.

I stumbled, watching him run away. What was he so quick to get away from? That's when a sickening feeling washed over me and I frantically started running down the hallway.

Sure enough, Tyler was lying unconscious on the floor, blood pooling in drips from his mouth.

"Tyler!" I cried, horror washing over me.

What had he ever done to Felix? I swore I was going to make that kid pay. I ran over, taking the poor boy in my arms.

"Tyler, wake up, please, oh god." My voice came out in sobs.

I heard footsteps running towards Tyler and me from down the hall.

"Help!" I cried, looking up to see Mr. Hemmings, the math teacher coming towards us.

"What," He huffed, "Happened here?"

"F-Felix Kjellburg beat him up," I sobbed.

Mr. Hemmings knelt down beside me, and suddenly I was aware of the tears streaming down my face. I hadn't cried that much since my dog died when I was 12.

Tyler didn't deserve this.

*3rd person again wooooo* (Also trigger warning as alwayyyysss)

When Tyler came to in the hospital, it was late afternoon. His eyes fluttered open and his consciousness returned, his vision was awfully hazy, though. He squinted up at what looked like a boy's face looming over him.

"You're awake."

"W-what... happened?" Tyler asked, sitting up slowly.

"You don't remember?"

"No, I just remember... oh. Felix. Oh."

Josh nodded, sitting down gently on the bed.

"Do you know where you are, Tyler?"

Tyler looked around, gasping.

Oh, no.

"Y-yes," Tyler whispered.

Josh looked at him with concern. He was suddenly shaking, pupils dilated in fear.

"Are you okay?"

"I c-can't be here."

"Why not?"

"Their gonna see, they're gonna ask questions."

He squeezed his eyes shut.

"They're gonna send me back to that therapeutic school."

Josh stared at Tyler with his mouth agape. So many questions were filling his mind, what on earth did Tyler mean? Why wouldn't he want to get help?

"What are they going to ask questions about, Tyler?"

Tyler glanced at him warily, biting down on the corner of his lip.

"M-my eating habits... and o-other stuff, too."

Josh leaned closer to Tyler, so he could only look into his eyes. He did know what kind of effect this had on Tyler, and for some reason he enjoyed it.

"What other stuff?"

Tyler's breath hitched as he looked into Josh's deep, honey brown eyes. Josh stared back, putting all of his willpower into persuading Tyler. He wasn't telling him something, and he could tell it was important.

Tyler suddenly held out his arm, shakily, pulling back the fabric that once was pulled so far up his arm that he had sweater paws.

Josh gasped.

Tyler had multiple scars lining his wrist, not stopping until they reached his elbow. Most of them looked fresh, and they were all neatly cut in straight lines, going up his arm like a ladder.

Josh looked back into the eyes of the poor boy's, who had his watering with tears. He didn't want Josh to know about these, he felt so disgusting.

He definitely thinks yøu're a freak, nøw. Løøk at yøu, damaged, brøken, pathetic. Nø øne cøuld ever løve yøu, especially nøt Josh.

Here it comes.

Tyler blinked, shocked.

"You care?"

Josh looked taken aback. He bit his lip, suddenly pulling Tyler into a hug. He buried his head in Tyler's shoulder, basking in his sweet, floral scent.

"Of course I care."

Josh suddenly felt the urge to keep Tyler safe again, he still had no idea why. He wanted to protect him, make him feel loved.

Tyler sobbed, clutching onto Josh's shirt and burying his head in the crook of his neck.

"Why? Why do you care?"

"Because we're best friends," Josh replied, and Tyler felt his heart both leap and sink at this.

"Well, I... There's just a lot of stuff going on, and there's this voice in my head..."

He hiccuped and Josh held him tighter, instinctively reaching up to run his fingers through Tyler's fluffy, brown hair.

"Shh, It's okay, your safe with me."

Safe. That's all Tyler wanted to be.

"D-don't let the doctors see, please. I can't go back to my old school. P-please."

Josh slowly pulled away, so he could look Tyler in the eyes.

"On, one condition."

Tyler nodded.

"You have to stop hurting yourself."

Tyler's mouth fell open and Josh pushed it back up.

"Please, Tyler."

"It's not that-"

Tyler hesitated, eyes subtly flicking over Josh's lips. He imagined them on his.

"For me?"

"Yes," Tyler finally spoke.

"You'll stop?"

Tyler nodded. Josh's face was so close to his.

Josh felt it then. An urge. An urge to press his own lips against the poor boys. What? Where was this coming from? He wasn't sure how he felt about this. He'd never had that kind of urge before, especially with one of his friends.

"Tyler, I have one more question."

"Why were you staring at me in science?"

Tyler felt his face heat up, he couldn't help the blush that formed.

"I l-like your hair."

"Are you sure there isn't something else that you were staring at me for?" Josh asked, and before he knew what he was doing, he was moving his hand from Tyler's shoulder down Tyler's chest to his waist.

Tyler let out the faintest of gasps.

"I-I'm sure."

Josh smirked.

What was happening? Was Josh flirting with him? Could this all just be a hallucination? The questions were too much. He felt light headed.

"Josh," Tyler spoke, suddenly clutching onto Josh's shirt.

"I f-feel..." The world went black and the boy fell into his friend.

(A/N: I feel like these chapters are getting shorter and shorter. :( )
