I'll Be Here |Joshler|

|Twenty One Pilots Faniction| Tyler Joseph wants to die. Then he meets Josh Dun. Maybe, because of him, he might think twice.

12. I'll Pick You Up at Eight

Wørthless piece øf sh*t.

Please, go away.

Nø. Yøu deserve this.

Tyler nodded at his thoughts, tears pin-pricking his eyes.

"Hey, Tyler!"

Tyler whirled around to see Ryan springing toward him excitedly, a grin upon the normally frowning brunette's face.

"Hi, Ry! What's up?"

"Brendon," Ryan panted, "Asked me on a date."

Tyler grinned through the pain Blurry was causing him.

"That's great! I'm so happy for you!"

Ryan pulled him into a hug and Tyler wrapped his frail arms around his friend.

"Thank you so much. Tyler, I'm going on a date with Brendon Urie. I-I can't believe this is actually happening."

Tyler pulled away so he was looking Ryan in the eyes.

"I can. You're such an awesome person, anyone would be lucky to have you."

Ryan looked down at the ground, smile faltering only slightly as if he didn't believe Tyler, but still felt complimented. "T-thanks."

The two boys walked down the hallway together, and as if one cue Josh and Brendon turned the corner.

Brendon gave Ryan a wink as he passed and Josh slipped something into Tyler's pocket.

Tyler gasped at the sudden contact, spinning around to face Josh, who gave him a grin.

"Well, read it!"

Tyler giggled, blushing pink as he reached into his pocket and began to unravel a small piece of paper. He opened it to reveal several markings in different patterns.

"This is... all in morse code," He pointed out to Josh, who gave him a chuckle in return.

"I suggest you go decipher it," He said, gesturing toward the library doors.

Tyler rolled his eyes, smirking at Josh and grabbing Ryan's wrist.

"Come on, Ry, let's go figure this out."

Ryan giggled, waving goodbye to Brendon and Josh before following Tyler inside. They sat at one of the computers in the corner, Tyler laying out the paper in front of them and loading up an interpreting website. He then typed the message and pressed enter, holding his breath.

A paragraph of text appeared on the screen:

Dear Tyler,

I, Joshua William Dun, would like to ask you on a date this Friday. It would be a double date with Brendon and Ryan since I'm really nervous. I decided to write this in morse code because I thought it would be fun, but now my hand and my brain is getting tired. If you say yes, I'll be really happy.

                                             Love, Josh.

Tyler brought his hands up to his mouth and Ryan squealed beside him, gripping his shoulders and squeezing them.

"He wants to ask you on a date! Tyjo, you gotta say yes!"

Tyler giggled slightly, his cheeks a deep shade of red.

"I will, I will chill out, Ryro!"

He logged out of the machine and followed Ryan out of the library, where Josh and Tyler happened to still be waiting. Josh had the most dazzling expression on, smirking shyly, a slight blush dusting his cheeks and his big, brown eyes intriguingly brilliant in the afternoon sunlight reflecting off of his orbs from the window.

"So, Tyler, what'll it be?"

Tyler smiled a real smile, the biggest one he had smiled in a long time.

"My answer is yes,  I would love to go on a date with you."

Josh grinned, pumping his fist in the air.

"You hear that, Beebo? I got myself a date with Tyler Joseph. Hell yeah!"

Tyler giggled.

"I'll pick you up at eight this Friday," He said with a wink.

"You've got to try this on."

Tyler rolled his eyes, taking the light blue button down from Melanie.

"Isn't this too formal?"

"Just try it on!"

Tyler sighed, stomping in mock offense into the changing room.

He opened up the curtain for them to see.

"Cute!" Gerard squealed.

Melanie nodded, clasping her hands together.

"But what if they're not taking us somewhere formal?" Ryan asked, fiddling with the hem of his own button down, the only difference his being a light pink.

Melanie shrugged.

"Come on, put your clothes back on, we're meeting Troye Sivan and Ashley Frangipane at Hot Topic in five."

Tyler raised an eyebrow.

"When did this happen?"

"While you were changing I texted them, " She explained as if an impromptu meet up was the most normal thing.

Tyler shook his head at Melanie's usual quirkiness and made his way back into the changing room, changing quickly and meeting the others outside.

They headed over to Hot Topic, where inside they found Ashley and Troye scanning the Nirvana T-Shirts.

"Dudes," Gerard said, "I love that band!"

Ashley raised her arm and they high fived.

"Guess who's going on a date tonight?" Melanie said excitedly.

"Who?" Troye and Ashley asked, not quite in unison.

"Ryan Ross is going on a date with Brendon Urie, and Tyler Joseph is going with Josh Dun!"

"So like a double date?" Troye said.

"Finally!" Ashley groaned happily, thumping Ryan on the back, who grinned, "You two have been after them since time."

"I know, right?" Melanie said with a grin.

Ashley suddenly pointed to Gerard, who was standing awkwardly by a stack of Pierce The Veil T-Shirts.

"Who's he?"

"This is Gerard," Tyler said quickly, stepping closer to the boy who was trembling slightly.

"Gerard Way," Melanie corrected.

"Jeez, Mel, what's your thing with last names?" Ashley asked.

She shrugged, black and blond pigtails swishing gently behind her.

"I don't know, I just like them."

"Some people don't have last names, you know."

"Yeah, but who do you know that doesn't have one?"

Ashley thought for a moment.

"Okay, you have a point there, but so do I!"

"Go on."

"Why are you so obsessed with last names, when none of us even know yours?"

Melanie shrugged again.

"I don't know, I guess it never came up."

"Well, what is it?"

Melanie glanced at all of them quickly, hesitantly opening and closing her mouth.

"Never would have guessed!" Ashley said enthusiastically, wrapping an arm loosely around Melanie's shoulders.

"Yeah, well, this is Gerard Way," Tyler continued, "And he's pretty chill."

"Nice to meet you, Gee," Ashley said, stepping forward to shake the slightly less uncomfortable boy's hand.

"Already at it with the nicknames, Ashley Frangipane?" Melanie said with a roll of her eyes.

"You know it."

Troye then stepped forward and shook Gerard's hand lightly, he was much less outgoing than Ashley, who was now fixing a hair that had become stray on Ryan's head and scolding him for not brushing it that morning.

"So," Troye then said, turning to face the others, "Can we help you pick what you're going to wear, or have you already decided?"

Tyler spoke before Melanie could open her mouth. "We have, but think it's too formal."

He took the shirts from the bag and held them up for all to see.

"Well, they're not too formal, I know people in the film making club that wear those everyday," Troye said, "But I guess it really all depends on where he's taking you."

"I guess so," Tyler agreed.

"It shouldn't be too much of an issue, though. If I had a boyfriend and he showed up to a not-so-formal date wearing something moderately formal, I would find it cute."

Tyler nodded. "Okay, then, I guess these were a good choice, then."

"Told you," Melanie said, ruffling his hair, "And, damn Tyler Joseph, when was the last time you got a haircut?"

Tyler shrugged, releasing a small giggle.

"We're getting you a haircut today, no doubt about that."

"Fine. It's getting bothersome, anyway."

"I will, too," Ashley suddenly said, causing everyone to look her way.

"Ash, your hair is already really short," Troye pointed out, motioning towards Ashley's blue pixie cut.

"How could you cut it any shorter? It was already a huge change when you cut your long hair."

"I'm gonna shave it off."

Everyone's eyes grew wide.

"What?" Troye said, blue orbs nearly bulging out of his head.

Ashley nodded to herself, as though she was confirming this decision in her head.

"Yeah, I'm gonna do it. I'm going to prove to myself I can still love myself."

"I support that," Ryan said with a nod.

"I do, too," Tyler agreed.

"Me three," Melanie said with a smile, "You'll still be the same Ashley Frangipane, anyway."

"Yeah, I guess that's cool," Troye said.

"I think that would look pretty cool," Gerard added shyly.

Ashley smiled around at everyone.

"It's settled, then. Tyler's going to cut his hair and I'm going to shave mine off."

She grabbed Tyler's hand and began to sprint out of the store.

"Wait up!" Melanie called with a laugh.

She began to run after them, the others close behind.

Friday couldn't come fast enough.

The days leading up to it were filled with both him and Josh sneaking glances at each other in science, singing nervously together in chorus, talking about the upcoming date in art club, and another trumpet lesson with Josh, this one quite with added flirting from both of them. Both boys were so excited they could barely contain themselves.

In the meantime, though, Tyler knew he would have to confess to Jenna how he really felt, otherwise she would continue to pester him in the hallways of the school, with him pretending to subtly flirt in return.

"Hey, Tyler!" She called to him, waving her manicured hand in the air.

He held his breath as she approached, he really didn't want to watch that shiny smile fall from her face.

"Hey, Jenna, listen..."

"What's wrong?" She looked at him with such concern, what an awful person he felt like.

"Look, can we... talk for a minute?"

"Of course," She said, leaning against his locker.

"Okay, um, where do I begin... Um, the party with you was nice and all, and you're a wonderful person, but-"

"So, we won't be going out?"

"W-Well, it's only because I'm actually gay."

There. The words were out.

"Oh," She looked slightly surprised, "Okay, then."

"Y-Your not mad?"

She laughed lightly.

"Tyler, why would I be mad?"

"Well, one reason, I'm a homosexual. Two, don't you feel, like betrayed, or something?"

"Not really," She said casually, "I know how persistent Patrick and Pete are. Besides, there's nothing wrong with being gay. You could have just said so."

"Really? You're a great friend, Jenna, you know that?"

"Duh," She said with a giggle.

She then proceeded to brush her blond hair out of her eyes and flash him a grin.

"Love your haircut, by the way. See ya around!"

Everything was set. The date was yet to come, and it was going to be great.

A/N: Hello, everyone! Long time no see. Ok, so I have no idea where I'm going with this story. Well, I do, but I have no idea how to get there. I feel like this chapter was really cliche and short and sorry it took so long to come out. ALSO i refuse to make Jenna a bad person! I love her and respect her very much. Stay Alive |-/
