The Girl in Cell 3 (Triple Witching Hour)

Every day SABLE talks to her knight in shining armor, EREN. She says sweet words, tugging at his heart, hoping to steal it. But there is always a barrier between them - a prison cell door. EREN has struck a deal: keep her locked up and his little brother will be out of harms way.

Her cell is inescapable and her placement on death row rises fast. She aims to seduce him and have him break her out. But when truths and lies become one, can she deceive his heart without breaking her own?

30. Chapter 29 - Zofia

Officer Reinhard lay on his bed with Zofia. He had his arms around her shoulders, their bodies clad in only their love, their legs entangled.

The two of them were in a little bedroom, tucked away in a small corridor in a part of the barracks that few people ever came to. He had specifically furnished this room for his meetings with Zofia.

“You’ve gotten better,” she said.

“You mean compared to the other men you’ve had?”

“There’s only you.”

She kissed him and then rested her head on his chest, listening to  the steady beat of his heart. She drew up her leg, resting it on his stomach. She brushed against something hard.

“Again?” Zofia raised an eyebrow.

She chuckled and raised herself with her elbow. “We could...if you want...”

Reinhard shook his head. “I have duties to attend to.”

“I thought you hired Eren Galloway for that.”

Reinhard sighed. He showed her the Request for Leave form Eren had handed him this morning. He had formally requested for three days of leave so that he could take care of his little brother Kolin. During these three days, as Eren’s superior, Reinhard would have to take over his duties.

Zofia pouted. She straddled him and twisted her hips. “Are you sure I can’t tempt you?”

Down in the prison, two guards stood at the door, waiting for Officer Reinhard to come. It was time for them to give their report and be dismissed for the day. Reinhard was an hour late.

“Officer Galloway way never late,” the first guard grumbled.

“Reinhard was never on time,” the second guard said. “I guess he hasn’t changed.”

“I wish Officer Galloway would come back.”

“Yes...I hope he comes back soon.”

They were about to say more, but they heard a pair of footsteps approaching the door. The breathed out with relief. Finally they could go home. But then—

No, it wasn’t just Officer Reinhard. There was a second pair of footsteps.

The door opened and Officer Reinhard stepped in with a woman behind him. She was wrapped a dark coat, her black hair and face hidden underneath a hood. They only saw her lips—slightly swollen and blood red.

“Anything to report?” Officer Reinhard asked.

The two guards shook their heads. Nothing out of the ordinary, they said. They clicked their heels and saluted. Reinhard dismissed them with a nod.

One voice, one mind, one army.

The witches in the prison were fast asleep. The quiet air was disturbed only by the quiet footsteps of the nightly patrol.

Reinhard wasn’t sure why Zofia had insisted to come with him. Up till now, she had always been satisfied with the reports she had received on the witches.

Perhaps it had something to do with the witch Eren mentioned.

With her face hidden, Zofia walked up to every cell they passed and peered inside. Her ruby eyes gleamed with wild emotion. Reinhard wondered what she was thinking. What would she report back to the Church of Valor? Or perhaps she came down here out of personal interest? Whatever the case, if this soothed her curiosity, then it would ensure harmonious times with her later.

And then—

They reached Sable’s cell.

The witch with the green eyes and blonde hair. The witch who shared a cell with the blue haired witch.

Zofia came to a stop. She approached the cell and grabbed the bars of the cell door.

“Is this the one Officer Galloway mentioned?” she asked.

Both witches were asleep.

Alisa ripped her eyes open. Her shining blue gaze hovered in the darkness of the cell.

Zofia grinned. Her white teeth showed. “And what is your name?”

Alisa said nothing.

“Tell me witch, how did you end up here?” she asked.

Alisa sat up. Her eyes gleamed with silent fury. Her lips quivered with rage. “Who are you?” Alisa asked. “What kind of witch are you?”

Reinhard stood behind Zofia, ready to interfere, but she raised her hand. Reinhard froze. “How do you know what I’m a witch?”

Alisa sneered. “You think you can hide it, but you can’t; you reek of dark magic.”

“Hmm.” Zofia examined herself. “You still haven’t answered my question—what is your name?”

Alisa remained silent.

“So be it.” Zofia turned her back to her and continued to patrol the cells.

When they had returned to their private chambers, Reinhard sank into his chair, all the tension having drained him.

Zofia was glowing. Her heart was beating fast, her red eyes pulsing with exhilaration.

“Why did you have to do that?” Reinhard asked. “It was far too risky.”

Zofia ignored him. “That witch with the blonde hair and green eyes that Eren Galloway complained about...she is rather pretty, is she not?”

Reinhard shrugged. She was beautiful—but not that it mattered to him. What mattered was that she was behind bars.

Zofia grinned sardonically. “I know what to do with her.”
