The New Generation

We all know and love our Marauders! So, I decided to write this! Be warned, it's going to be terrible...but anyways, let's get on with it!
Harry James Potter, Audrey Jade Black, Vivian Penelope Lupin, and Lucas Peter Pettigrew are the only known descendants of our beloved Marauders. But, they don't exactly know that, do they?

3. Chapter 3

Audrey's POV

It was time to go back to Hogwarts. Oh, goodie. Just a reminder that most of my friends didn't ever pay me much attention. Harry wasn't exactly my friend, but we still were at the same time. I was actually quite excited to see my friend, Vivian again. In her last letter, she'd told me that her dad was going to be the new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. I'd never met him, but by the sound of him, he was pretty nice. My other friend, Lucas, was more of a loner. Plus, he was a huge grump at times.

I was with my family, at King's Cross Station. We were in a hurry. The train was leaving soon.

"Audrey, hurry! Hurry!" mum called to me.

I sighed, and kept running. My trolley was pretty heavy. I just pushed on.

We all ran through the barrier, and ran to the train. We left our trolleys where we were supposed to, then said our goodbyes. My mum and dad pulled me aside at last second.

"Mum, dad, I have to go!" I groaned.

"Audrey, don't worry much about what we've said. You're still our daughter, and always remember that," mum said, kissing me on the head.

My dad gave me a hug, and I said, "Sure..."

After they finally released me, I hurried to the compartment my friends were sitting in.

Vivian's POV

Dad and I boarded the train, and we walked to a compartment and sat. I still had the awful leaf in my mouth. Dad said that after we'd been in the train for a bit, I'd be able to take it out.

"Listen, I'm going to take a nap, Vivi. Your friends can sit here too if they'd like," he said to me.

I nodded, and relaxed in my seat next to him. Within a matter of minutes, he was asleep. A lot more people began boarding the train. I moved to the other side of seats, to look out the window.

I stared out the window, hoping to see my friends, Audrey and Lucas. Unfortunately, I couldn't see them.

Without my dad knowing, I quickly took out the leaf. I couldn't bear it any longer. It'd be fine, right?

While I was searching around for them, the compartment opened, startling me. Then, Harry Potter and his friends came in. THE Harry Potter! My dad had known his dad. He talked about him a lot. I'd never actually talked to Harry before...and I felt kinda shy, because I kind of liked Harry.

"D'you mind if we sit?" Harry asked me.

"N-n-not at all..." I said quietly, but loud enough that they could hear me.

They all filed in, but kept a close eye on me and my dad. They acted like they had no clue who I was. After they'd sat, they looked at my dad, and Harry asked, "Er...who is that?"

"It's my dad. He's going to be a professor at Hogwarts this year. The Defense Against the Dark Arts professor," I said proudly.

They nodded, but eyed me suspiciously. Harry really acted like he didn't know me, but Ron and Hermione knew me. I was Ron's adopted sister Audrey's friend, and Hermione and I lived in the same dormitory.

"I hope you don't mind me asking, but, who are you?" Harry asked me, almost as if he could tell I knew he didn't know me.

"Vivian Lupin. I'm in your year, and I'm a Gryffindor."

"Oh..." he said, shifting uncomfortably.

After a moment or so of silence, Harry whispered to his friends, "Do you think he's really asleep, and do you think we can trust her?"

They both eyed me, and then nodded.

"Good, because I have to tell you something," he whispered.

He was rather awful at whispering. He was almost whisper shouting. He didn't trust me. That was the last thing I needed to hear. They started having an apparently private discussion, and I ignored them. It wasn't until the train started moving and the compartment opened when I noticed that Audrey was standing there.

"Audrey!" I said, jumping up and giving her a hug.

"It's good to see you too, Viv!" she laughed.

At the corner of my eye, I saw Ron sort of roll his eyes. Audrey must've seen it too, because she scowled at him. Audrey sat down next to my dad, since those three were crowding the space next to me. We all turned our heads to see Lucas come in.

Lucas's POV

That whole week had been a living nightmare. After I'd wandered the streets for several days without food, water, money, or anywhere to go, I'd turned to magic. And, that got me absolutely nowhere but in trouble. With the law. Ministry officials came and talked to me, and when they noticed how I'd been living, they took me to a wizarding family, who eventually adopted me. They weren't the nicest people, but they were better than the hags. They'd taken me to the Platform, and barely said any goodbyes. I'd escaped into the train, searching for my friends.

The train was moving, and I hadn't found them. I searched, searched, and searched, but I still couldn't. I was getting frustrated. They had to be on the train, right? A long period, of about 15 minutes passed, and then I found them. I opened the compartment, and walked in.

"Hey, Lucas. Where've you been?" my friend, Audrey asked me.

"Looking for you," I grumped, sitting next to her, and some guy who was asleep.

"What's wrong?" my other friend, Vivian, asked me.

"Nothing," I said.

"How are your parents?" Audrey asked me.

My gut clenched as I remembered the lie I told my friends. I never told them I lived in an orphanage where I was abused. I'd told them I had parents, just normal parents.

"Oh...they're-they're good..." I shrugged.

Harry Potter and his friends, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley were sitting on the other side, next to Vivian. It was very crowded in there.

The rest of the train ride was silent. Just how I wanted it to be.
