When Fate Forbids

Lory doesn't know what to do when she finds herself falling head over heels to someone who she is forbidden to love. What will happen when fate forbids her satisfaction?

7. When Fate Forbids VII

“Hi!” a blonde girl with a bubbly attitude greeted me on the front step of my house with Red behind her. “I’m Stacy. I’m assuming that you’re Red’s twin, Lory?”

“I am,” I nodded at her. I got to admit, she was gorgeous. I couldn’t expect anything less from Red. “Please, come in,” I opened the door widely for them to enter.

I was anxiously waiting to meet her with this pain inside my chest. Red eyed me for a second before placing a hand on the small of Stacy’s back.

“You’re beautiful!” my mother complimented the blonde from the kitchen. “Even though I wasn’t part of Red’s life when he was growing up, I taught him well,”

You didn’t, mom.

I mentally rolled my eyes at what she said. If only she knew what had happened between Red and I…she probably wouldn’t say those things.

“It’s a pleasure to finally meet you, Mrs. White,” Stacy flashed a million-dollar-smile at my mother.

“Come and sit with us,” my mother said. “Dinner’s almost ready.”

“So…you’ve been together for four years already?” my mother asked Stacy. “When do you plan to get married?”

“I think you’re rushing things, mom…” my voice trailed off.

“Red?” Stacy looked hopefully at Red.

Red cleared his throat, “I already proposed to her, mom. We’re engaged,”

“What?!” I almost choked on my food.

“Your sister couldn’t contain her happiness,” my mom chuckled.

That wasn’t it.

I wasn’t happy about this, not even a bit.

“Y-Yeah,” my voice cracked. “I’m so happy for you, Red,”

“Thanks,” Red smiled at me.

“And I want you to be my bridesmaid, Lory,” Stacy, who was sitting in front of me, held my free hand that was on top of the table.

Oh great
