The Empire Chronicles: Rise of The Empire

Exiled by his own people for fear of him becoming a dictator (even though he was nothing but kind and essentially created their utopia) as his future self began terrorizing them and his wife nearly killed him all because he spends more time trying to help his people and prove his innocence rather than be with her and their children. Now, begins his revenge.

A middle aged pink haired woman wearing a black military uniform (with a different hawk like crest in the middle) yelled out, “ARE YOU SERIOUS?” A blond haired man in a red military uniform (with also another different bird crest on his chest) sat calmly on his throne and replied, “Warn, This man has kept our people from annihilation from the land dwellers, and he deserves our gratitude.” Warn sat in her throne, as well, on the other side of the podium and continued to yell, “Did you read the reports of what his ships are capable of?” A younger man with dark purple hair, wearing a green military uniform and an eagle crest on his chest sat calmly to the right of Depkun, resting his chin on his right hand, spoke, “That is why all our capital forces are committed Supreme Sentinel.” Warn turned to Zebu and spoke as she tried to control her anger, “Chancellor, we don’t know if he has more in reserve.  Beyond the Protectorate’s perimeter everything is blacked out.” A deep voice echoed in the room, “Then you should listen to what I propose Supreme Sentinel.” Warn and Zebu looked around puzzled while Depkun looked towards the front doors and when they opened a mist spewed forth as the young woman that was sent for Lord Valkyrie called out, “Supreme Leader, I present to you Lord Valkyrie of The Empire.” And the large black figure of Lord Valkyrie entered, breaking the peaceful mist before him with his black boots, his intimidating large black figure and his black cape flowing behind him before stopping his advance between Depkun and the front doors.  Supreme Leader Depkun smirked, while Zebu and Warn kept looking with blank but determined expressions, and spoke, “I see you still keep an urge to make a dramatic entrance Michael...” Lord Valkyrie interrupted, “It is Lord Valkyrie to you Supreme Leader.” Supreme Sentinel Warn immediately stood up and yelled angrily, “YOU DARE INSULT THE SUPREME LEADER!  Guards, seize him!” Four soldiers approached Lord Valkyrie with their rifles drawn when suddenly they stopped, dropped their rifles, grasped their throats and began choking as they were lifted off the ground.  Depkun shifted in his seat with a look of unease while Zebu and Warn (as she fell back in her seat) looked surprised and as the guards choked Lord Valkyrie spoke deeply and firmly, “I did not come here for a petty squabble.  I came here to create an alliance that will regain the glory of Zarn and to satisfy your taste for revenge on Yaraka.” Supreme Leader Depkun stated calmly, “I would like to hear more, once you have released our guards.” The guards continued to choke when suddenly there was a loud snap sound as all four of the guards necks were snapped and like Warn and Zebu, Supreme Leader Cassel Depkun looked surprised (but for an instant) and the dead guards crumpled to the ground lifelessly.  Lord Valkyrie noticed Depkun’s surprised expression and the shocked looks of Warn and Zebu and he spoke dryly, “You didn’t say you want them alive, Supreme Leader.” Cassel Depkun’s lip quivered before he replied, “I guess from now on we have to be more precise when we discuss the terms of our alliance.” Lord Valkyrie spoke, “Could not agree more Supreme Leader.  Also, may I bring in my second in command for our discussions?” Depkun replied agreeably, “You may.” Supreme Leader Depkun pressed a button on his right armrest and a few short moments later the front doors opened and Captain Cruz marched inside and took her place to Lord Valkyrie’s right before he spoke, “Before we begin I think it will be more agreeable if we get to know each other.” Supreme Leader Cassel Depkun replied, “I believe we all know who you are Lord Valkyrie.  Parents sold you to an advanced cybernetic race bent on trying to conquer the known universe and performed unknown number of experiments and surgeries that have left you scared before you were able to overcome what they have done and were able to escape with your future wife.  You are the founder and former leader of The Zhargosia Republic and formed the alliance between your people and the United Star Systems before you were forced out of office and became a wanted man because your future self decided to wage a Terrorist War against Zhargosia and the United Star Systems.  We heard from your future self that your wife betrayed you and is now engaged with your future self.” Beneath her tinted glass mask of her helmet Captain Cruz stopped herself from looking shocked by what she just heard and continued to look forward when Lord Valkyrie replied, “You are correct about my former life Supreme Leader.  I will now tell you about what I am and what I intend to do.” He raised his right hand and continued, “But first, let me show you your past and what my forces are composed of.  Captain Cruz.” Miranda holstered her rifle and with both hands, removed her helmet to reveal her bundled up orange hair and while Chancellor Karma Zebu looked unfazed, Supreme Leader Cassel Depkun sat rigged in his seat, as he looked blankly at the stern but expressionless face of Miranda Cruz, and Supreme Sentinel Hamon Warn looked stunned and a single drop of sweat formed on her left temple.

It is dead silent in the throne room till Lord Valkyrie broke the silence, “I see Supreme Sentinel Warn that you know Captain Miranda Cruz.” Warn swallowed as Captain Cruz stared at her and responded, “Not exactly, but I know her...” Cruz interrupted, “Kind.” Warn was a little surprised but then she looked at Miranda with a stern gaze and she clinched her fists so tight that her knuckles cracked and she spoke firmly, “I see an outdated clone like you has a use after all.” Cruz spoke strangely calm, “If you mean after creating us and use us to fight your wars till we are of no use and discard us like we are garbage, then yes.” Cruz tightened her fists till her gloves made a barely audible squeak and continued, “Only you made one grave mistake.” Warn asked, “And what is that?” In a blink of an eye, Cruz pulled out her rifle and fired three shots (one round over each of the thrones) forcing Supreme Leader Depkun and the others to duck in their seats and there were three metal clanking sounds as three helmets flew back and bounced off the walls with bullet holes in them.  Behind each throne a soldier fell with bullet holes in the middle of their fore heads and as Supreme Leader Depkun and his colleagues looked up (as they watched the soldiers fell) they saw Captain Cruz pointing her rifle directly at Supreme Sentinel Hamon Warn.

Karma, Cassel and Hamon watched Captain Cruz with expressionless faces as Cruz aimed her rifle at Hamon with determination and a firm (possibly angry) look on her face.  Lord Valkyrie’s solid red lensed eyes glanced in Captain Cruz’s direction and he stated, “Captain Cruz.” As if Lord Valkyrie is ordering her, Captain Cruz lowered her rifle and attached it to her side holster while Karma and the others (barely audible) breathed a sigh of relief.  Lord Valkyrie spoke, “As you can see, the clones you have abandoned do not agree what you have done but will tolerate your cooperation with our empire we are building.” Hamon asked with an angered expression, “How many, DEFECTIVE, clones were created in the cloning process?” Hamon glanced at Captain Cruz, as if expecting a threatening reply, but Cruz stood her ground and looked as if unfazed by what Hamon asked and Lord Valkyrie replied, “So far only one, but she has become VERY unique.” Supreme Leader Depkun asked, “In what way?” As if replying to his question, a dented helmet from a Zarn soldier fell on Depkun’s lap and Sofia “The Assassin” Demor appeared to the right and behind him with her specialized weapon staff on hand and replied to Depkun’s question, “Like that and not get caught.” The Supreme Leader smirked as Karma looked up  in awe while Hamon is clearly angered and was about to speak but stopped herself as Lord Valkyrie looked on and said, “Sofia Demor, aka The Assassin, is an expert in waging guerrilla warfare and any assignment that entails eliminating a specific target or person by any means necessary.  Even a clone, that is not like the others, can still be of some use.  Am I right Karma?” Not telling if Lord Valkyrie is glancing at Karma’s direction beneath his breathing mask and solid red lensed glasses that hid his eyes, Karma smirked and replied, “I believe so, Valkyrie.” Lord Valkyrie’s red glaring lenses on his helmet looked directly at Karma, as Karma tensed at the sight of Valkyrie’s eyes, and asked, “How is your wife faring?” Karma smirked and replied, “What Chancellor’s wives always do.  Attends and hosts parties as well as seeing her friends and other rich girls.  Beaming me out of my suicide attempt to destroy Yaraka’s Battlecarrier prototype with an Air Carrier is a great decision and allowed me to save my future wife from her abusive father.” He then pointed at Lord Valkyrie and continued, “I still owe you for that by the way.” Lord Valkyrie replied, “You don’t owe me anything Chancellor.  Is your niece, Minerva, doing well as well?” Karma sat back and replied with a smile, “The Princess couldn’t be more happier.  As a matter of fact she has a boyfriend who is a former Suit pilot and works in a Suit division that is in charge of repairing and maintenance of this colony’s sun panels.” Lord Valkyrie made a short bow and said, “Very good.” Lord Valkyrie then turned to Supreme Leader Depkun and asked, “Supreme Leader, how is your sister, Kayla, since I last saw her?” Cassel replied, “Since aiding the people’s welfare during the Exodus she now runs a community center at the edge of the capital and helps the poor that live within the city.” Lord Valkyrie asked, “Do I have your permission to see her, once our business has concluded?” The Supreme Leader raised his right hand, as if beckoning Lord Valkyrie, and replied, “I don’t see why not.  Even if I refuse, you will see her anyway with your powers you displayed and yet to reveal.” Lord Valkyrie spoke, “Supreme Leader, this is your home.  No matter how strong I am, I will respect your wishes and privacy.” The Supreme Leader made a single nod and Lord Valkyrie continued, “I see your wife, Hamon, still has reservations about my peace offering.” As if insulted, Hamon yelped angrily, “Only because the offering you gave us so far are seven, if not nine, dead of our own guards.” Lord Valkyrie replied, “We will reimburse you of your dead soldiers when we go over the details of our alliance.” He then turned his head in Captain Cruz’s direction and ordered, “Wait outside.” Captain Cruz snapped to attention and replied, “Yes sir.” Sofia remained at ease as she replied, “Yes Valkyrie.” And she walked down the podium and followed Captain Cruz (as she put her helmet back on) as they exited the room and the doors closed behind them.

The Blitz troopers stood at attention on one end of the hallway, staring straight at the soldiers of Zarn on the opposite side (as they stood at attention as well but felt intimidated) while The Assassin leaned back against the wall (fiddling with her staff) and Captain Cruz stood at attention as well, but the young female officer that escorted them earlier squirmed and looked up at Captain Cruz with an uncomfortable expression.  Captain Cruz then looked down at the girl, but the young officer immediately stood at attention and at that point the doors opened and Lord Valkyrie walked out of the room before standing before Captain Cruz (casting a dark shadow that almost eclipse the young female Zarn officer next to him) and stated, “Take the two squads and The Assassin back to the ship.  I will join you shortly.” Captain Cruz replied, “Yes sir.” And she made a left face before marching ahead and the Blitz troopers began following behind as The Assassin ask, “Why are you staying behind?” Lord Valkyrie looked at her and The Assassin remained relaxed (even as Lord Valkyrie’s red lensed eye pieces of his helmet stared right back at her) as Lord Valkyrie replied (as if controlling his anger), “None of your concern Sofia.” The Assassin rolled her eyes as she sighed, grabbed her staff and followed the rest of the Blitz troopers leaving Lord Valkyrie behind.
