The Bully

Everyone knows Josh Dun. Everyone knows that in middle school he beat someone up for no reason. Everyone knows to avoid him. Everyone knows you can't talk to him if you do he'll beat you up. But what happens when the shy boy on the top of the honor roll decides that Josh isn't that bad? And what if Tyler is wrong?

5. Rumors

"Tyler!" Tyler's mom called him downstairs.

Tyler tried to read her voice, but he could never tell if she was mad or not. He just hoped he wasn't in trouble.

He walked downstairs to the living room where his mom was sitting on the couch with her laptop in her lap. He sat down in a chair across from the couch and stared down at the floral rug.

"Honey, you're not in trouble,"

Tyler knew that meant. It meant she wasn't going to yell at him, but something bad was going to happen.

"I'm just worried about you."

So many thoughts ran through his head. Had she found his edgy Tumblr? Did she hear him talking to Blurryface? Did she listen to the music he listens to?

"What do you mean?" he asked softly.

"My co-worker saw you at the coffee shop the other day."

Oh no.

"She said you were hanging out with that Dun boy."

No, anything but Josh. Tyler would rather have his laptop taken away forever than not be able to be with Josh.

Josh was too important to him.

"Look, you know I'm flexible about the people you're friends with, but I don't want you hanging around that boy."

"But, Mom-"

"Don't think I don't know about the things he does. I don't want him making my boy into a bully."

"Mom, I-"

"And I certainly don't want him to bully my boy."

"But, Mom, he's not a bully. He's just misunderstood! He's not going to hurt me, Mom, I swear."

"I'm not going to change my mind. If I see you with him or hear about you being with him, you're grounded."
