The Bully

Everyone knows Josh Dun. Everyone knows that in middle school he beat someone up for no reason. Everyone knows to avoid him. Everyone knows you can't talk to him if you do he'll beat you up. But what happens when the shy boy on the top of the honor roll decides that Josh isn't that bad? And what if Tyler is wrong?

2. Meet me after school ;)

Brendon ripped the paper out of Tyler’s hand.

“He what?!”

“I already told you,” Tyler replied, calmly, “He gave me his phone number.”

“But he said ‘Meet me after school’ that’s what all bullies say in movies and stuff.”

“Yeah, but do bullies add a winky face and give cute boys their number.”

“Maybe and did you just call yourself cute?”

“You know I am.”

Brendon rolled his eyes, “Whatever, just please don’t go Tyler.”

“Why,” Tyler teased because nothing else would work, “Are you jealous?”

Brendon blushed slightly, “What? No, Josh is a bully. I don’t like him!”

He paused when he saw the look on Tyler’s face.

“Dude, I was joking.”

“Yeah,” Brendon mumbled.

However, after that Brendon couldn’t really tell Tyler he couldn’t go. He walked away from the big school building and headed down the street towards his house.

The phone rang once. Tyler counted it on his fingers.

Twice, still no answer.

Tyler knew from calling Brendon on the same phone that the phone rang five times before it gave up.

Finally, after the third ring, someone picked up.

“Hello?” A muffled voice said.

“H-Hi, is this Josh? This is Tyler.”

Tyler held his breath, there was still a chance he’d been given the wrong number.

“Oh! Hi Tyler~”

Tyler sighed with relief. It was Josh, Brendon was wrong. Josh wasn’t a bully.

“So you, um, wanted to meet up?”

“Yeah, I just, um, you seem cool and I wanted to get to know you somewhere where your friend wouldn’t pull you away.” He sounded nervous. He was so cool, though, why would he be nervous around Tyler?

“So where do you wanna go?” Tyler sounded like he was flirting. He shouldn’t have been and he knew that. Josh would think he was a freak if he found out he was gay.

“I dunno, what places do you like hanging out?” Josh sounded like he was smiling. Maybe he was- no Tyler couldn’t think like that. That was weird.

“Well, the library is always nice but,” Tyler thought about the coffee shop. He thought about the cute boys who went there after school, made even cuter by the warm lattes they sipped on while staring at their computer. “What about the coffee shop?”

“Yeah, sounds good!” It was obvious at that point that Josh was smiling, even though Tyler couldn’t see him.

“See you there~” He sounded flirty. Of course, Tyler was imagining that Josh just wanted to be friends, nothing more.
