Silver Pendants

A story about 3 girls who end up in the strangest of situations

8. Ash's POV (Chapter 8)

As I'm walking away from the hut in the woods when I hear loud footsteps and I stop in my tracks to listen. But before I know it, someone has run into me at full speed and I stumble backward from the force.

"What the hell?!", I scowl at the girl who ran into me. She's taking me in fully and looks up into my eyes. I raise an eyebrow at her and she flinches and starts to spew apologies in a mess of slurred words. She had long brown hair and a silver nose ring. She was wearing a redish-brownish beanie on and a big white shirt with some type of band on it. She had black jeans and boots on. She had a big, grey, baggy sweatshirt on. Perfect eyebrows and black eyeliner. I thought she was really pretty.

"Hey, slow down and tell me what's happening.", I look at her with my hands partially up, approcaching her like I would a spooked animal. She backed up a little.

"I-I'm s-sorry I just- I was running and I-I didn't see you.", she practically spit the words at me, hoping I would except that and move on.

"Are you trying to get out of the woods?", I ask her, putting my hands in my pocket and leaning back. Maybe the more relaxed I seemed, then maybe she would calm down a bit, and start to trust me.

"Yes.", she looked at me playing with her fingers and shifing her weight from foot to foot.

"Well you're going the wrong way.", I say, chuckling.

"Oh.", was all she said.

"Follow me, and we can talk while we get out of here.", I offer.

"Um...ok.", she looked at me and we started walking out of the woods. Wouldn't be long. Maybe five minutes at most.

"What's your name?", I ask.

"Where do live?"

"Cold Springs" (Hi there! This is the author Musical_Art a.k.a Lilly, Cold Springs is a real place but we didn't know what to do so that's where this is all taking place. It's a little town in New York. Look it up!)

"Me too! So why are you out here? You don't look like a girl to be in a woods.", I say looking at her as we slowly made our way out. Her head was down and she wraped her arms around herself.

"It's personal....", she wispered, tightening her grip on her arms.

"Ok well maybe, you can tell me tomorrow? Did you see that little hut?"

"Yeah!", she looked excited at the thought of it and looked up at me with wide eyes.

"Ok, meet me there tomorrow then. After school.", I say as we near the edge of the woods. Once we're there, I stop and start to make my way towards "home".

"Hey! I didn't get a name!", she yelled at me as I'm walking away. I turn around, walking backwards now.

"It's Ash!", I yell back at her, and continue home.

I open the back door and immeditally smell the alchol. Covering my nose with my sleeve, I go up to my room. I stop at Mom's room and lean in the door frame. She's laying across the bed, still in her dress, passed out and snoring.

"G'night, Mom", I mutter, lips pursed, I walk to my room, head down. I look at the clock. It's 3:57 AM. I start to undress and get into my pajamas to go to bed. Before I get into bed, I check my computer. Nothing. No messages. Not even notifications. I climb into bed and curl up into a ball, tears already streaming down my face, onto the sheets. I felt like shit. Tomorrow's a new day though. I'd really get to meet Chole. Maybe she'll be a friend. First one in a while. Hopefully she goes to my school. Clinging onto that hope, I close my eyes and let sleep take over.

Hope you liked that! I'm pretty proud of this chapter and how it came out! See ya next time!
